I would put in the backfield Jeff Spikes from Burkeville and Anthony Byerly from Newton..... I can't believe noone had Jeff Spikes on their List.... He was awesome on the field.... Will Gulley would be on my list also at safety.... There is alot of DB's also I would put there....

Also Charles Powell was an All-American at McNeese from Silsbee way back when. Plus I hear those McGallion boys were something too....

How is it that Worster over Joe Washington is a given???  Once we see J Charles entire body of work he may be right there as well.  But at this point in time, I think it's hard to argue the full body of work the Little Joe displayed from this area.

Beasley is a great athlete but should not be put at QB in front of Todd Dodge, James Brown and Chip Ambres from WB, Flip Johnson from H-F, and many others.  I will even say that I would rather have Brandon Williams from Central at QB or Dustin Long from PNG than Beasly.  Beasley is a great WR/CB playing QB at WO-S because they needed him there.

As of right now, Ahmad Jones should not even be mentioned on this list.  I watched 3 Silsbee games this year and I saw him flop on the ground trying to make blocks and wallow around down field while never touching linebackers.  He might turn out to be all world one day, but now he should not even be on the list.

There are so many from this area the arguments could go on forever. I remember Jeff Bergeron from PNG. In fact I saw PNG play Linclon when both Jeff Bergeron and Joe Washington were playing against each other. In my opinion Jeff was the best all around back of the two. I saw him with blazing speed and as a good receiver as well as passer. He threw a half back pass in several games for completions. He needed an attitude adjustment when he was a kid or he could have been a great NFL player in my opinion. Steve Wooster was a great running back. If you could go back and watch film of him you could see what I saw. He was a man upon boys when he was playing. I have not seen another running back that possessed the ability of running with a football as he did. We are talking high school running backs. That would be my two picks for running backs. Yes, I know that there are a lot of other very good backs to choose from. They were all good. I mean, how far back should we go. When I was a little kid in the 50's there was a running back for PNG's state championship team named Gorden Lebluff. I don't know anything about him but I heard all the adults at the time saying that there probably would never be a better running back ever. So there you go. We all have opinions and that is just what they are. These RB's will never be accurately judged against each other. Again, they were all good.

Referring to PNG's Gordon Leboeuf (this is closer - I know it wasn't Lebluff) he had a running mate named Labove.  They were quite a tandem.  The kid from South Park, Bud Hebert (I think), was pretty good too.  Went on to play at Oklahoma.  The Farr brothers from Hebert were pretty good and of course Levias from Hebert was a pace setter.  The Smith boys from Charlton-Pollard knew a little about football.  Man, you can go on for awhile talking about the talented football players from this area.

Sorry about the spelling. He has a brother that is named Rodney, at least I think they were brothers. Rodney was good also but I don't think was as good as Gordon. He was a teacher and coach but went on to be superintendent at Kountze I believe. Wasn't Labove's first name Bobby?

This is a topic that you will never get any kind of a consensus on.  To even try you need to first create parameters for the judging.  Do you consider performance at the prep level only?  Entire football career including college or pro? How do you stack different eras and classifications and publics vs privates?
