Jacob Hooker's Wildcats, 34-4 on the season, come in as the Region III Champions and reached this semifinal via a 2-0 (18-0, 17-0) bi-district series win over Mumford, a 8-3 area round win over Shiner, a 2-0 (4-1, 5-2) regional quarterfinal win over Thorndale, a 3-1 regional semifinal win over Mason and a 2-1 (0-10, 6-3, 10-2) regional final series win over Refugio. The Lions, 23-7 on the season and Region I Champions, reached this round with a 2-0 (13-3, 15-1) win over Cross Plains, a 2-0 (4-0, 14-0) area round win over McCamey, a 2-0 (15-1, 6-3) regional quarterfinal win over Haskell, a 2-0 (2-0, 5-2) regional semifinal win over Hale Center and a 2-1 (0-8, 7-6, 4-3) regional final win over New Deal.
