But it seems that the community that is hardest hit is Sabine Pass and with Harvey in 2017. While several communities have come a long way back, the Sabine Pass Sharks have not been able to recover. In 2018, shortly after a 50-0 loss, Sabine Pass opted to forfeit their district slate and to not participate in District 12-2A-II play in 2019, but rather operate as an independent. Head Coach Jason Thibodeaux has managed to put together a nine game schedule to rebuild the Sharks. Head Coach: Jason Thibodeaux Assistant Coaches: Elmer Laird (Offensive Coordinator), Mark Hodge, Chad Bryan, Will De Blanc, Cody Almond Offense: Six starters return to the Sabine Pass spread offense in 2019. Look for freshman Rylan Johnson to assume the quarterback duties. Junior running back Grayson Johnson and freshman running back Alex Juarez will be seeing time running the ball for the Sharks. Senior Jordan Boatman will lead the Shark receiver corp. Seniors Nelson Pena and Terry Brown, and sophomores Carlos Aragon and Riley Pinell return to form a Shark offensive line that will also include freshmen Lucas Blood, Tyler Brown and Dejuan Thomas. Defense: Six starters return to the Sabine Pass 4-2-5 defense in 2019. Pena, Terry Brown, Aragon, Pinell, Blood and Tyler Brown will form the Shark offensive line. Alpha Wolf Posted July 16, 2019 Report Posted July 16, 2019 Good for them on trying to rebuild that program. Every kid in every community should at least have the opportunity to play football if they choose to... png9mon 1
