However, the experience did not pan out as the Broncos went winless in 2018. Again, the Broncos will have to grow up in a hurry as only 5 offensive starters and 4 defensive starters return to the 2019 squad. If that maturation occurs, then Jeff Nations' Broncos could be returning to the playoffs for the first time in three years. Head Coach: Jeff Nations Assistant Coaches: Brandon Craus (Offensive Coordinator), Adam Archibeque (Defensive Coordinator) Offense: Five starters return to the Dayton spread offense in 2019. Taking over at quarterback will be junior Chris Olige (2nd team all-district at wide receiver in 2018). His primary target in the Bronco passing game will be senior wide receiver Brent Monceaux. The strength of the offense will be the experienced offensive line as senior tackle Demetris Whittington and junior tackle Tim Sjolander join senior center Carlos Ortiz on the front line. Defense: Four starters will return to the Dayton defense in 2019. Up front, the defensive line will be lead by senior defensive tackle Christian Medrano. Senior linebacker Gavin Bennett will return to lead the Bronco linebacker corp. Senior safety Bryce Chimene and senior cornerback Deon Robinson will anchor the Bronco secondary. Special Teams: Senior Jaime Pineda will handle the place kicking duties for Dayton in 2019. The punter and returners will be finalized at summer practice.
