Does anyone follow the 7 on 7 state tournament? I know the championships were today, but I was interested to see if there is any correlation between 7 on 7 state champions and actual football state championships. Has anyone seen a correlation in the years past? I will be looking into it this year.

Them pads different.

Would be interested to see if ANY team wins both championships. I see teams win 7 on 7 and then never even see them ranked during football season.

As far as athletes are concerned....

Carroll has one of the best safeties in the country (Clemson commit RJ Mickens).

A&M Consolidated has a 3-star WR committed to OU (Brian Darby), another uncommitted 3-star WR (Devin Price) and an uncommitted 3-star CB (Nate Floyd).

Pleasant Grove has a 3-star RB committed to BYU (Bruce Garrett).

The other three teams have no kids that have been rated for the 2020 class.

I think Carrol also has a QB committed to A&M? Or a TE or something like that

Here's the 2018 champions and their finish last year.

Div I:  College Station 9-3
Div II:  Midlothian Heritage 11-2
Div III:  Gunter 14-1

Pretty good for sure, thanks. I’ll be looking into it this year to see how A&M Consolidated, Sunnyvale and Poth do this season.
