WOSgrad Posted July 29, 2019 Report Posted July 29, 2019 2019 FOOTBALL TEAM PREVIEWS ANAHUAC PANTHERS 2018 Record: 4-6 Overall, 3-4 District 5th Place in District 12-3A-I The Anahuac Panthers just missed the playoffs in 2018. To reverse that fortune, the Panthers will rely on a new face on the sidelines as Greg Neece, formerly the offensive coordinator at Newton and head coach at Kirbyville before that, will take over. Helping Neece work the magic he did at Newton and Kirbyville will be five returning starters on each side of the ball. Head Coach: Greg Neece Offense: Five starters return to the Anahuac offense in 2019. Senior quarterback Foster Kruezer (2nd team all-district) will again operate the Panther offense. Senior running back Teriyan Nyaribo (2nd team all-district) will spearhead the Anahuac rushing attack along with junior running back Landyn Fanus. Junior wide out Terrell Cargo and sophomore wide out Zyon Clark will be reliable targets in the Panther passing game. Senior guard Arnoldo Rodriguez (1st team all-district) will lead things on the Anahuac offensive line. Defense: Five starters return to the Anahuac defense in 2019. Junior defensive end Logan Dehoyos will lead the Panther defensive line. Junior linebacker Cade Dye (2nd team all-district) will lead the Panther linebacker corp. Clark will anchor the Anahuac secondary. Special Teams: Special teams positions will be determined during summer practice.
