EAGLEFOREVER Posted August 17, 2019 Report Posted August 17, 2019 Newton needs more conditioning, everybody walking around and confused on offense toward the end. They need to find somebody that can catch. Newton’s defense needs work in the secondary. The run defense wasn’t bad but still needs some work. Nederland’s quarterback has a good arm and a quick release, their running back runs hard and he is quick. Looks like they have a couple of good receivers that can catch. Nederland's defense looked good at stopping the run, but weak at the pass, maybe defense was setup to stop the run. Lumberton has to learn how to stop penetration if they are going to run that offense. Lumberton’s defense is not terrible, just read keys better. As it looks right now Newton will have to rely heavily on its defense for a third run, but the year is young and things can get worked out or changed, better conditioning is a must. Hagar Posted August 18, 2019 Report Posted August 18, 2019 Certainly not an expert, but from a fans perspective, the Slot T is not an offense you perfect quickly. The timing, blocking assignments, and all the movement, take time to get into sync. Hopefully, the Raiders will be vastly improved by District. Quote
