Guest Jody Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Well, another unforgetable day on choke canyon. Fished my tournament Saturday and finished 9th place, however one dead fish bumped me to 11th out of 179 teams. I weighed in 30.42 with an 11.54 kicker fish. Yes, 30.42 was good enought for 9th place, as there were 10 bags over 30.0 lbs in a One-Day tournament. There was also one bag that was late to the scale and disqualified with 37 lbs and change. There were 4 fish weighed over 11.0 pounds. Average weight was just a hair under 4 lbs per fish and there were only 15 zeros for the tournament, wich for the most part were people who did not weigh. Pattern: Texas rigged green-pumpkin senko (wave-worm brand) with 3/8 weight or bigger around brush tops and through grass beds. Carolina (same as above also worked well. 4-15 feet around structure listed above. Fact is, you could have put a hook in a dog turd and caught fish. Up to 18 place over-all in the points out of a total of about 500 teams. Hoping for top 10 finish in June on Falcon. It should be 110 deg F by then.
