Is Hampshire Fannett the "REAL DEAL" this year

They seem to have a pretty good team this year. I remember them barely losing to Silsbee last year 26-27. Any idea how far they can go in the playoffs?

Hamshire-Fannett IMO has the most exciting player in SETX at the QB position, unfortunately they'll more than likely get bounced 1st round by Jasper again.

Depends on how the bracket shapes up. What place in district they get. Best case scenario probably 2-3 rounds

Best case: 2nd or 3rd. Depends on the HJ game and Silsbee game. They'll beat Liberty.

They will beat HJ by 14-21 pts. Silsbee game will be a good one. HF has good size on Oline and a good aggressive defense to go along with Marcus Morris at QB. He rushed for over 240 vs EC and over 300 against Tarkington.

HF is impressive.  QB has just improved every year over the last 3 years I have seen him.  They have two rb's to compliment him that can gain good yards as well.  Not much of a threat through the air.  Defensively they are not bad, but they will have to win shootouts against the better teams in Region III to have a chance when the playoffs roll around.

They’ve sure been impressive.  I suspect their basketball team to be much improved this year also.   Good coaching, and a good bunch of athletes.

They have a pretty good coach.  When a school has that, good things happen.  More kids go out for the team.  They play hard.  The leaders step up.

HF is the real deal and may shock a couple teams in that district  they a big fast physical and senior heavy all the makings for a great football season and shocking some people

Look at what you're  saying.  Obviously,  this Silsbee  team at this point  is not as good as last year's.  Clearly, this year's H-F team is better than last year's.   And Silsbee beat that team by 1 point.   This year, unless Silsbee gets substantially  better, I can see them losing to H-F...

I wouldn't say HF is the real deal.  They will get 3rd at best in their district. District losses will come to WOS and Silsbee. Now, if they go out and blow out Liberty and beat Silsbee to play for a district championship against WOS then they can be considered the real deal. Until then, can this notion that they are.

I remember the old days late 80's when HF was pretty dang good. I'm sure everyone remembers the Malveaux (sp?) kid that went to Michigan, but they had some real good players that came after him for awhile also. I like that HF is making a turn, to be competitive again.

Wasn't Silsbee 2-3 at this point with wins over Bridge City and Lumberton last year?

This year they are 2-2 with wins over Nederland and a better Lumberton team. I believe they would have beat BC had the game been played.

I think this year's offense is as good, defense getting better. It is reasonable for Silsbee to be as good as last years team at the time they play H-F. Personally, I thought last years Silsbee team didn't start peaking till the playoffs.

I saw the switch get turned on in that first WO-S game.  They wasnt  peaking, but that was the when the buildup to peaking began.

Almost I guess, except I'm leaning more toward a Silsbee loss at this very moment.  Unless the defense keeps improving like it currently is...
