BH vs Crosby

Ok let’s get this started! Crosby is starting to feel it with a big win over PNG while the Eagles haven’t dropped a game since week 1. Crosby comes to Eagle Stadium with a chip on their shoulder while the Eagles want nothing more than to repeat last years drumming of the Coogs!  Should be a great game , but I think the Eagles take this one 28-14.

It’s very possible that Crosby could take this, but it would require the Eagles to beat themselves IMO. The Eagles have played pretty smart this year, so I wouldn’t count on them imploding now. Plus there is only one team that BH enjoys beating more than Dayton and that would be the Coogs! I look for BH to be jacked going into this game!

Now we have to listen to this after one win against the cougs. crosby has owned bh for years. lol man i wish my son didnt get hurt last year, we would have dropped 60 on every team in the district.

Dayton beat us for years as well and look where they are now. Maybe your time is over too? Not sure who your son is, but hope he has healed and playing on Saturdays.

Even if BH wins, Crosby will be a wake up call to BH. I think the game will be similar to Vidor/BH in that Crosby has shown it has a good defense but struggles to move the ball. I think Crosby’s offense has made improvements, while Vidor’s seems to have taken a step back. So BH is facing a good defense and a better offense than the one they faced last week. I think we are looking at a one-score game.

This will be a close game I just don't think their Defense is any better than Vidor's at this point. Crosby will have the best athlete's that we have faced this year, but that doesn't always give an advantage if they are not discipline. This game IMO will come down to the play in the trenches and this is where BH has excelled this year. 1st game of the year Magnolia had at least 3 lineman going DIV 1 and outdid us in the trenches. Seeing film from the Crosby/Sante Fe game it looked like the Crosby QB just ran around until he found a seem then dashed for 50 yards. He will be running again this game, but will find it much harder to escape and if Santa Fe's D had him on the run just wait till Friday :)  BH's Defense could be the best that the Coog's have face this year. Lets go to the numbers

BH - Season averaging 33 points on Offense and allowing 17 points on Defense. Since District started BH is averaging 29 points on offense and allowing 5 points on Defense.

Crosby - Season averaging 26 points on Offense and allowing 21 points on Defense. Since District started Crosby is averaging 31 points on offense and allowing 14 points on Defense.

Only like opponent is Vidor. Crosby lost 37-27 at home and BH won 21-7 Away.

Everyone wants to down Vidor and not use them when comparing, but they have done well. BH just held them to their lowest scoring for the season and beat them by the greatest margin of 2 TD's for the season.

Yes the reason you don't compare vidor is because neither offense plays anything close to Vidor's offense. If we want to compare how vidors defense did against either offense that would be a valid comparison because of how similar our offenses are.

Sounds logical Cougtalk , but BH has to get some love for defense. We had to play with 11 players just like you, study game film just like you and tackle the guy with the football just like you. No one else has taken the beating Vidor gave your D. Heck maybe BH should just line up in the Wing-T this week😃

Yes, has played in the last two games.

That could make this a better game than I thought then. He has two games under his belt and one of those being PNG, so he has been under pressure. Crosby’s MO has always been to just out athlete BH which worked well with the twins then came squirrel 😃. Hopefully BH can contain and force Him to stay in the pocket.

You can tell Crosby fans are worried because I have to keep digging this off the second page. Maybe we turn GURU back on and let him brighten up the post with classics like “ You Trash” or “BH turable”. 😃

Need Smoking Baby to get online, that'll get em going.

    • You got a LOT more than that, you’ve got Riceland filling up. GCM is dropping down from 23-6A back down to 5A in ‘26.  GCCISD is redrawing attendance zones to make sure of that.  At the same time, BH was only about 100 students under the 6A threshold last time UIL drew districts so BH is definitely going up to 6A when those maps get redrawn, probably right into the empty spot in 23-6A GCM is leaving when they drop down.
    • Like I said, even if it’s only 10% of the 100 kids BHISD takes from GCCISD each year, that’s 10 athletes per year and that’s being generous.  You’re right about the jobs with BHISD, BTW.  There’s more than 1 athlete from Baytown originally who got transferred to BHISD after a job opened up for Mama.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
