5A D2 is going to be really interesting. I think everyone can agree that Aledo will be in the championship game from the region 1-2 side of the bracket. Calallen is the favorite out of region 4. Region 3 has Manvel, FB Marshall, A&M Consolidated, Hunstville and maybe Barbers Hill or PNG could make it interesting. My prediction is Aledo vs. Manvel

A&M Consolidated is REALLY good!!! 2 Big time receivers and good QB.

Things could really get interesting for sure lol! What do y'all think will actually happen though?

who knows in this district.  There is a history of the teams making the playoffs due to points and coin flips.

BH   6-0 district champs 1 seed

PNG 4-2 vs

Ned 4-2

Crosby 4-2

Vidor 3-3

games left -

BH vs Santa Fe - playing to be undefeated district champs but Bh has 1 seed locked up. Just need to get/stay healthy for a playoff run.

png vs Ned both teams should be in but both could be as high as 2 or as low as the 4 seed

crosby vs lee if Crosby wins they will be the 2 seed with wins over Ned and PNG. If they lose it comes to points?

vidor vs Dayton - vidor has to win and hope for Crosby to lose by a lot

BH   6-0

PNG 4-2

Ned 4-2

Crosby 4-2

Vidor 3-3

Baytown Lee 2-4

Games remaining:

BH  -  ( Santa Fe )-   Head to head wins:  (Ned, Lee, Vidor, Crosby,PNG)  - BH clinched the DC and the #1 seed,  playing for undefeated DC

PNG -  (Nederland) -  Head to head wins (  Vidor (+8),  Lee (+17) ) - Losses (Crosby -6, BH (-5).   PNG is in but the seeding is still up in the air. They can be as high as the 2 seed with a win over Ned and a Crosby loss,  or 4th if they lose MCM and Crosby wins.

NED -  (Crosby, PNG) -  Head to head wins (Vidor (+4), Lee  (+21) )- Losses (BH - 21)(Crosby -7).   They are basically in the same boat as PNG,  a win and MCM and a Crosby loss would put them in the 2 seed, or the 4 seed if they lose MCM and Crosby wins.

Crosby - ( Lee) - Head to head wins (PNG (+6). Ned. +7 )-  Losses (Vidor (-10), BH (-21)).  Crosby is currently in fourth with a 1 game lead on Vidor .  They need to win to get in  or for Vidor to lose.

Vidor - (Dayton) -  Head to head wins (Crosby (+10)  Lee (+12) -Losses( PNG -8, BH -14, Ned -4).   Vidor is going to need  to win out and also need some help from Nederland and Lee to get in.  They beat Lee head to head but Crosby won against Ned,  so they still need Lee to beat Crosby by at least 7 points.

Lee-  ( Crosby) - Head to head wins (none)  - Losses (PNG  (-17)  , BH (-21) , Ned (-21), Vidor (-12). They are out of the running but can still spoil  Crosby’s playoff plans if they win by more than 7.

1.  Nederland can still miss the playoffs.  A Nederland loss, Crosby loss and Vidor win would leave the 3 in a tie at 4-3 for 2 spots.  Head to head, the three teams are 1-1 against each other.  Positive points would leave Vidor +6 (10 pt win over Crosby, 4 pt loss to Nederland), Crosby -3 (10 pt loss to Vidor, 7 pt win over Nederland) and Nederland -3 (4 pt win over Vidor, 7 point loss to Crosby. Vidor would be the #3 seed and Crosby #4 (via the head to head over Nederland) with Nederland on the outside looking in.

2.   Crosby is currently the #2 seed.  PNG, Nederland and Crosby are currently tied at 4-2.  Crosby holds the head to head over both PNG and Nederland, so they are in the #2.

3.   Margin of victory doesn't matter with regard to Crosby/Lee game.  If Nederland wins, Vidor wins and Crosby loses (no matter the margin), Crosby will miss the playoffs. That is because that would set up a 3 way tie between Vidor, PNG and Crosby at 4-3.  Head to head is 1-1.  Vidor would be +2 (10 pt win over Crosby, 8 pt loss to PNG), PNG would be +2 (8 pt win over Vidor, 6 pt loss to Crosby), Crosby -4 (10 pt loss to Vidor, 6 pt win over PNG).  PNG would be #3, Vidor #4 and Crosby out.

Any scenario that puts them in a 3 way tie gives Vidor a good shot at the playoffs.  One of those parts (Ned or PN-G loss) will be a given.  The second (a Vidor win) also looks good.  It is the 3rd part (Crosby loss) that is the iffy part.

Might want to wear some maroon with your black and gold next Friday.

    • Has Elmo gotten his aggy premature extension yet?  Pay him already because you guys were exactly right - he really does “get you.” 😂🤣
    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
    • SEC fan bases before Texas got there: “The horns aren’t ready for this. Every week is a battle.” SEC fan bases after Texas arrived: “Texas has the easiest SEC schedule ever!” SEC fan bases after every one of their teams has lost to one or more SEC teams from the bottom half of the standings, many of whom Texas beat comfortably: 🤐
