I was surprised the Longhorns weren't ranked in the 1A rankings. I was the head football coach this year (our first year to ever have football) and we did pretty well going 4-1 with some solid athletes. I think we have a chance to make some noise this year.

Was really surprised to see Lipan all the way down at 16, but Leggett is still in it.

Yes.  It enabled them to acquire a 6-7 PG from the Dallas area who is projected to be the #1 pick in the draft after his freshman year of HS (by some prognosticators - I would say he will go #2 behind Evan Mobley).   And the rest of the team is absolutely stacked as well.  Should be another battle this year between MV and IMG for the HS NC.  If Yates keeps the game “respectable,” I will be highly impressed.   And I think Yates will be very, very good this year (favorites to win State).  MV is still good enough to beat the brakes off of them.

There program is called scholarship and it doesn't hurt when you have that manchild Cade Cunningham who in some people's eyes will be a future 1st round 1st pick in the draft...

Yeah, that Yates press isn’t ideal when you have guards like Cunningham.  Scottie Barnes may have 20 dunks in that game.

Yates v Morton Ranch starts right about sunset for all those precise sabbatarians out there who also follow HS basketball,  like myself.  It is also < 10 mi away.  Hopefully that Yates game on the 30th is streamed somewhere. I doubt it though.

Another good game from what the rankings show will be #3 Beaumont United vs #4 Dickinson on the 16th, with from what I hear  Dickinson will be minus a footballer or two that are descent role players but both will have full squads pretty much...Who you got?
