The Bucs welcome 14 starters back from last year’s 11-1 team. Overall the district should be tougher than it was last season and it should make for some very exciting Friday nights.Key Wins Last Year:Hardin-Jefferson (36-35)Deweyville (60-44)Hemphill (35-29)Last Year’s Scores:East Chambers 41 Shepherd 27East Chambers 41 Orangefield 29East Chambers 20 Hamshire-Fannett 17East Chambers 36 Hardin-Jefferson 35East Chambers 60 Deweyville 44East Chambers 27 Warren 12East Chambers 48 Anahuac 6East Chambers 35 Buna 13East Chambers 35 Kountze 14East Chambers 52 Hardin 0East Chambers 35 Hemphill 29Mart 49 East Chambers 21Offensive Summary7 starters are back on offense for East Chambers in 2007. Last year the offense put up 38 points per game. The leader for the East Chambers offense returns in QB Tramain Thomas. Thomas had one of the best years in all of Southeast Texas in 2006 as he passed for 1,366 yards and 11 touchdowns and rushed for 1,349 yards and 22 touchdowns (team leader in both categories). He also had 2 interceptions from his safety position. Another key player for the Buccaneer offense is TE Vance McDonald. He had 11 catches for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns last year. We expect the East Chambers offense to roll once again in 2007 and continue to light up the scoreboard.Other Offensive Impact Players:Jacoby Carrington (WR)Carlos Trevino ©Defensive SummaryCoach Valastro also welcomes 7 starters back on defense. Last season the Buccaneer defense allowed 23 points per game. LB Paul Trammell will be the defensive leader this year for the Bucs. He had a monster year last season as he had 119 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. Joining Trammell at the LB position will be Jarod Rabalais and Kendall Barrow. The defensive line should also be solid, led by Joseph Reed and Brian Vigers.Other Defensive Impact Players:Quentin Joseph (CB)East Chambers plays a very tough non-district schedule as all of their non-district games are against 3A teams. They open the 2007 season in week 0 with a home game with Shepherd. A classic week 1 matchup has the Bucs traveling to Orangefield to take on the Bobcats in a game that is always a great one. East Chambers also has games against Hamshire-Fannett and Hardin-Jefferson on the non-district schedule. They open 24-2A play on October 5 at Deweyville. Another key game in district will be October 26 at home against Buna. Here is the complete 2007 schedule for the East Chambers Buccaneers…..
