AggiesAreWe Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 After their 4-0 start it has to be United. Another team that started the season off well but will miss the playoffs is Tarkington. Really thought they were going to make the playoffs. TrojanMoJo, BADSANTA and BMTSoulja1 3 Quote

CardinalBacker Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 Well, I can’t speak for you all, but we’ve made dramatic improvements this year. Our winning percentage improved over last year (thanks, Imelda!), and our fans are still supporting our playoff boycott in its third year. Go Cards!!! Hagar 1 Quote
TXHORN_ET Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 In this day and time, if you’re not able to finish at least 4th in your district and not make the playoffs, that is the definition of disappointment. Let the playoff t-shirt sales begin! GURU 1 Quote

Yeah they were 4-0 and playing well and I was on there bandwagon. They were also a school to be effected in a major way by the storm Imelda that probably disrupted a lot. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote
MrUmp1 Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 Cleveland Browns, media was crowning them Super Bowl Champs before season. Now for High School, I really think overall the Golden Triangle teams are down. A few bright spots but we could see quite a few teams out after 2nd week of playoffs. Deep East Texas teams I see going very deep are San Augustine and Newton. WOSgrad and 9 Minutes 1 1 Quote

oldschool2 Posted November 4, 2019 Report Posted November 4, 2019 DiappointING?.. Meh.. I'm sure there were some teams who had a fair amount of relative "success" last year that didn't reciprocate this season. Most people don't take graduation into account.. most of the time it really hurts a team. On occasion, it can help a team. DisappointED? I would imagine that every team that didn't finish in the top 4 of their district is pretty bummed about it. Especially considering that most of the area districts are mediocre-awful on a regular basis. Obviously, there are usually a couple of exceptions where a few area schools will win 2-3 playoff games or more. As stated previously, the entire area seems to be a little down. More so than usual. I'm thinking San Augustine might be better than I thought they would be at the beginning of the year.. but they're always a potential contender. TXHORN_ET 1 Quote

We have a wining record against Lee and GCM, but I think we have only scrimmaged Sterling in the past. I'm not sure why you'd be saying that, or are you just saying we won't play Sterling? Quote

What I was told in the past is that when GCM was driving down I-10, past at least 2 schools (Dayton and BH), to play in the Golden Triangle, that BH pushed to not be in a district with GCM and REL. Take it for what it's worth. Quote
