Right Call?

Refs counted the  bucket but Niagra player  tipped it back out and went down court and scored. After a five minute review they let both buckets count. Any you gurus have an explanation?

Made basket, Niagra ball is the simple solution.

Yep. But doesn’t Niagra have to inbound the ball after the made basket?

That's my point. They should count SFA basket but not Niagra. Still allow Niagra to inbound. Will have to reset game clock.

One would think NCAA refs could get it right after reviewing it. Southland officials are not the elite. Lol

I do not know the rule, but in my opinion they would count the 3, reset the clock and make the other team take the ball out. Their bucket should not count.

Corrections come down to timing and if it would be considered a correctable error.  By rule, it is not a correctable error, which are:
- Failing to award a merited free throw.
- Awarding an unmerited free throw.
- Permitting a wrong player to attempt a free throw.
- Permitting a player to attempt a free throw at the wrong basket.
- Erroneously counting or canceling a score.
