Vidor Swim Team racks up at meet

VIDOR — It was a busy day collecting nice medals for the Vidor Swim Team last weekend as it collected several nice medals from the Spindletop Swim Meet.

In the Boys 8-and-under 100 intermediate, Eddie Dyess rolled to a first-place finish with a time of 2:13.09.

In the Girls 9-10 100 intermediate, Carly Bessire was fourth with a 2:01.24 followed by teammates Cameron Mayo (7th, 2:21.36) and Ariel Stevenson (8th, 2:23.30).

In the Girls 11-12 100 intermediate Meredith Chilton was second with a 1:51.59 followed by Loren Mahana (3rd, 1:54.67) and Bailey Rogers (4th, 2:01.73).

In the Boys 11-12 100 intermediate Seth Rice was fifth with a 1:50.45 followed by Lucas Wolfe (7th, 1:59.19) and Christopher Montoya (9th, 2:32.55). In the 13-14 division, Timothy Brown was eighth with a 2:08.29.

In the mixed 8-and-under 100 freestyle relay, Vidor won with a 1:37.00. In the mixed 10-and-under 100 freestyle relay, Vidor was second with a 1:29.73. Vidor’s mixed 12-and-under freestyle relay unit won first with a 1:18.50.

In the Girls 6-and-under 25 freestyle, Gabrielle Leglue was third in 28 seconds. In the Boys 6-and-under 25 freestyle, Timothy Bahl was third with a 46.47 and Judah Rice was fourth with a 46.58.

In the Girls 7-8 25 freestyle, Macy Chilton took first-place honors with a time of 20.92 followed by Zoe Bahl (7th, 26.85), Gabrielle Duke (11th, 27.49), Kasey Leglue (12th, 28.19), Tia Laforge (16th, 31.73), Emily Christman (17th, 32.46), Lauren Stout (18th, 33.51), Harley Schiesler (22nd, 42.51), Cheyene Schiesler (23rd, 42.85) and Josey Cade (24th, 50.95).

Dyess captured another crown in the 7-8 boys division by winning the 25 freestyle in 21.59. He was followed by Lawson Flores (4th, 29.23) and Joel Schiesler (6th, 29.46).

In the girls 9-10 25 freestyle Carly Bessire was fifth with a 20.53 followed by Madison Chilton (6th, 20.57), Ariel Stevenson (9th, 21.89), Breana Bailey (17th, 26.64), Kaitlyn Lea (18th, 26.93), Cameron Mayo (19th, 27.37), Korbyn Lee (20th, 27.93), Morgan Mayo (22nd, 32.93) and Darby Reed (25th, 42.39).

In the boys 9-10 25 freestyle, Gavin Lacy was fifth with a 20.99 followed by James Conner, Jr. (6th, 23.65), Hunter Heidleberg (8th, 25.88), Taylor Roark (9th, 26.70) and Jaron Morton (14th, 32.73).

In the girls 11-12 50 freestyle Meredith Chilton was third with a 42.92 followed by Loren Mahana (5th, 48.08), Kayla Lee (6th, 51.89), Kathryn Bost (7th, 53.88) and Katie Bentson (8th, 1:02.01).

In the boys 11-12 50 freestyle Seth Rice was fifth with a 43.86 followed by Lucas Wolfe (6th, 45.25), Tyler Thompson (7th, 46.16) and Christopher Montoya (13th, 55.67).

In the girls 13-14 50 freestyle Stephani Dyess was ninth with a 59.08 and in the boys 13-14 50 freestyle Timothy Brown was 11th with a 49.62.

In the girls 6-and-under 25 butterfly Gabrielle Leglue was third with 42.93.

In the girls 25 butterfly Macy Chilton claimed first place with a 27.19 followed by Kasey Leglue (6th, 37.70) and Zoe Bahl (7th, 40.75).

In the girls 9-10 25 butterfly Madison Chilton was fifth with a 25.80 followed by Ariel Stevenson (9th, 33.19) and Morgan Mayo (11th, 41.61). In the boys 9-10 25 butterfly Taylor Roark was second with a 34.92.

In the girls 6-and-under backstroke Gabrielle Leglue was second with a 39.13. In the boys 6-and-under backstroke Timothy Bahl was second with a 41.99 followed by Judah Rice (3rd, 48.95).

In the girls 7-8 25 backstroke Macy Chilton won yet again with a 26.02 followed by Emily Christman (2nd, 27.87), Zoe Bahl (6th, 31.27), Kasey Leglue (10th, 33.21), Cheyene Schiesler (12th, 34.09), Tia Laforge (13th, 34.18), Lauren Stout (17th, 37.65), Gabriella Duke (18th, 37.77), Harley Schiesler (23rd, 42.82) and Josey Cade (24th, 47.23). In the boys 7-8 25 backstroke Eddie Dyess was second with a 27.39 followed by Lawson Flores (3rd, 31.92) and Joel Schiesler (34.61).

In the girls 9-10 25 backstroke Madison Chilton won the event with a 23.74 followed by Carly Bessire (2nd, 26.11), Kaitlyn Lea (6th, 29.94), Cameron Mayo (9th, 34.16), Breana Bailey (10th, 35.39), Morgan Mayo (14th, 38.79), Korbyn Lee (16th, 41.09) and Darby Reed (17th, 46.50). In the boys 9-10 25 backstroke Gavin Lacy was second with a 25.97 followed by James Conner, Jr. (4th, 27.79), Hunter Heidleberg (9th, 33.90), Taylor Roark (10th, 35.60) and Jaron Morton (13th, 49.78).

In the girls 11-12 50 backstroke Meredith Chilton was second with a 49.42 followed by Loren Mahana (3rd, 51.65), Bailey Rogers (5th, 56.13), Kayla Lee (6th, 1:03.56), Kathryn Bost (7th, 1:05.07) and Katie Bentson (8th, 1:10.43). In the boys 11-12 Lucas Wolfe was second with a 52.91 followed by Seth Rice (3rd, 53.31), Tyler Thompson (7th, 56.98) and Christopher Montoya (11th, 1:19.78).

In the girls 13-14 50 backstroke Stephani Dyess was seventh with a 1:22.02. In the boys 13-14 50 backstroke Timothy Brown was ninth with a 1:00.54.

In the girls 7-8 25 breaststroke Lauren Stout placed fourth with a 43.30. In the girls 11-12 50 breaststroke Bailey Rogers was second with a 53.13 followed by Kayla Lee (3rd, 1:09.02).

The West End YMCA Team won the team title with 618.5 points followed by Spindletop Swimming (301), Vidor Area Swim Team (210.5), Pinewood Swim Team (142) and Golden Triangle United (20).
