Peppermint Patty Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 Former Texas OC Tim Beck is a candidate. Would not be a terrible hire IMO. Quote

The first sentence in this article states: " Texas has parted ways with offensive coordinator Tim Beck." I guess one can read that this only means he was demoted. But, does Lamar want someone that was just been demoted for job performance? Does he have a record of being a success as a college head coach? If not, I'm not sure Lamar has the time to roll the dice again. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Quote

Tiger33 Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 I thought Lamar AD wanted a coach with Texas ties? Not saying Tim Beck doesn’t have some buddies but looking everywhere he has coached it’s only been at UT. He may be a great hire. But looking at his coaching career he has not stayed at a job more than 3 years. I was hoping Lamar Would find a coach that would stay Atleast 5 years and would be hungry to start a winning tradition not just give up after a couple of losing season. Anyone have a list of candidates ? Quote
Tiger33 Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 Correction on my part I didn't read that he did coach Texas high school football for 6 years in Texas heres his record. TIMOTHY BECK 6 years; 38-29-0; 4-2-01999 Carrollton Turner 2-8-02000 Carrollton Turner 6-5-0 T2001 Carrollton Turner 7-5-0 T2002 Mansfield Summit 5-5-02003 Mansfield Summit 9-2-0 C2004 Mansfield Summit 9-4-0* Quote

Bulldogs92 Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 I'm a Nebraska fan and Beck spent some time there as the OC. He got a lot of criticism, but I thought a lot of it was unfair just because expectations are always so high there. I think LU would be smart to get him before someone else does. Heck, I think UNM should be looking at him, too. Quote
navydawg31 Posted December 12, 2019 Author Report Posted December 12, 2019 What about Todd Dodge... Quote

navydawg31 Posted December 12, 2019 Author Report Posted December 12, 2019 Lamar hired Blane Morgan OC/QB coach from San Diego State tonight... not to sure about this hire Quote
Bulldogs92 Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 I may go to the New Mexico Bowl (SDSU vs. Central Michigan) out of curiosity since I'm here just to see what the Aztecs are running on offense. Quote
Tiger33 Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 The AD has me scratching my head. They have to pay the past coach 280k. I think they need to find a new Ad. Quote

Just looking off of stats alone, SDSU was pretty balanced, but they're only giving up maybe 10 points a game. Their defense is why they're good. Quote
