Right Call?

Half has just ended. Team A’s coach gets a tech. Possession arrow to start second half points to team A.  Team B shoots two free throws. Should the possession arrow be changed to team B to start second half because of the tech?

I’m thinking the possession arrow should change to Team B

It should be handled the same way as a tech during pre-game. Team B, who shot the tech, should get the ball to begin the second half.

That’s what I was thinking. They awarded Team A the ball.

Technical foul awards team 2 free throws and possession of the basketball, the possession arrow should have been changed.

Shoot tech free throws.  Team B gets ball and Team A gets arrow.  Team A was penalized twice then.  What game was this in?

To many Refs can’t get a charging foul right, and you expect them to know something like that?   C’mon no-look....😂😂😂

Leave possession arrow alone.  Team B should get ball from the tech (2 free throws and ball) at the start of the next half.. not as a result of the possession arrow.  Techs don’t change possession arrow.

The way I understand it the possession arrow is only used if there is a jump ball or a tie up??

It's used to start the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters.

I've never known a tech to have anything to do with the possession arrow.  But..if at the end of the half/quarter then the tech has to be honored (2 ft's plus ball opposite the clock) no matter who get's next possession.  In this case I'm pretty sure the arrow stays, but the opposite team of tech gets their tech possession first.
