Before the season I thought that this would just about be the ceiling for Newton this year. I ended up revising my forecast upwards after Newton did so well in non-district. 
 

Nothing to be ashamed of considering what all was lost from that 2018 team/staff. 
 

I wish a “bad” year for us was a third round exit. Newton will be back before long.

It’s next to impossible to replace the D1 talent Newton lost to graduation last year; I mean losing that kind of talent would be crippling for a 6A program, much less a 3A team

I agree. But everyone talk about Newton losing Foster Barlow and Brown who spent most of their time on offense. Newton don’t have a problem scoring. What hurt Newton is not replacing Metoyer, Kellum, Paulette, and McGraw. If it’s one thing about Newton. Their defense has been the key to winning. Defense was good with Sylvester but not like it was the last two years.
