WOS has the better team but i think Silsbee will beat them in 3 years or less. WOS is like the Roman empire of football in this district but we all know it was finally conqered

^^^... Haha, you had to get edited by Coop. What bad did he put Coop?

WOS will not ALWAYS be the best team in setx, but they should be able to match up with some of the best every year.

Silsbee is 'Loaded' with talent either. They just have some more athletes stepping up this year.

Until the champ is beaten they are still the champ.  Saying that, WOS currently would have to be considered the better team.  Silsbee does have some talent but they are young this year.  If anything the Tigers may start slow ,but the Tigers will be a force for the next several years.

WOS will always be the best team in southeast texas regardless of who you compare them with

You crazy if you think WO-S can step on the field with PAM or WB.

.....and you're crazy to think they can't.  Consistently over the past 20 years WOS has been synonymous with winning, district championships, and playoffs.  PAM has yet to live up to their hype although talented.  WB is definitely turning the corner after several dismal years.

At this exact point in time--NO they cant, if it was the past couple of years YES they could beat both, but not right now they cant.

Not exactly. I have to go with Scooter on this one. WO-S doesn't have the numbers anymore to play consistently with the larger teams.  They have a great history behind them but it was time to drop to the lower classification. The Mustangs last three years in 4A there were no playoffs.

As far as hype, WO-S hasn't exactly lived up to their hype going into 3A and haven't been any better in the playoffs than WB or PAM.

Nicely stated.

Thats exactly what im going off of. No way they have more talent than those 2 teams. Coaching only gets you so far, i'll give them best coaching staff but they wont come close to beating those two teams. The players have to do it, and i dont think they have as many GAMEBREAKERS as those 2.

No, we couldn't play up to the 5A schools and win - most likely. But we certainly have proven that we can still play with the 4A teams. Last year we beat Dayton 26-9, as well as beating Bay City and LCM. The year before that, we beat Bay City and two playoff teams from the local 4A district - district champ Central and also Nederland. The year before THAT, our first in 3A, we beat Nederland and Central, losing to Bay City, who went 9-2.

Our record against 4A teams - very few of them "weak" - since dropping to 3A is 8-1. That includes - over the course of just three years - two of the undefeated district champions from the former District 20-4A.

WOS probably would have been the 4A champs in that district down south.  PAM may have all of the talent in the world but they have yet to live up to their potential and hype.  Ozen had more talent than nearly every team in their district and couldn't do squat last season.  WOS expects to win and does.  I can't believe I am defending a foe. :P

This is a Silsbee-WOS thread go start a bigger school thread if people want to beat their "We are big school therefore we are better" chests.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
