Larry Haynes takes over a Hardin program looking to get back on its feet after a few tough seasons. Coach Haynes will definitely have plenty to work with as the Hornets have 17 total starters back for 2007. Hopefully a new winning attitude mixed with a lot of experience will get Hardin back to their winning ways.

Key Wins Last Year:

Anahuac (13-10)

Last Year’s Scores:

Tarkington 14 Hardin 6

Groveton 15 Hardin 6

West Hardin 26 Hardin 24

Hardin 57 Cathedral 6

Deweyville 57 Hardin 14

Warren 41 Hardin 23

Hardin 13 Anahuac 10

Buna 41 Hardin 14

Kountze 48 Hardin 28

East Chambers 52 Hardin 0

Offensive Summary

9 starters are back on offense for the 2007 season. Last year Hardin averaged 19 points per game. 2-way star John Stelly returns after rushing for 800 yards last season. Look for Hardin to have a very good offensive line to lead the way for Stelly in 2007. The line will be led by Wade Williams, Dylan Barber, Clayton Warner and Andrew West. Also look for the Hornets to be strong at the WR position with Chase Ringer, Hunter Davis and Cameron Koen.

Other Offensive Impact Players:

Daniel Marsh (RB)

Jordan Nolan (QB)

Defensive Summary

The Hornets return 8 starters from a defensive unit that gave up 31 points per game last season. That number will have to improve for Hardin to have a chance to compete for a playoff spot. The above mentioned John Stelly was the team leader in tackles from his LB position in 2006 with 103 and that earned him a spot on the All-District team. He will be the leader of a very good linebacking crew along with Garrett Cathriner and Michael Posey.

Hardin opens the 2007 season with a week 0 home date with class 3A Tarkington. The following week they travel to 1A power Groveton. The Hornets close out non-district play with games against 24-1A members West Hardin and High Island. Hardin will open 24-2A play on September 28 at home against Deweyville. Here is the complete 2007 schedule for the Hardin Hornets……

Well I seen them play a little this summer, and i think they will be really good. If their linemen work as hard as their skill players, they should do very good this year. The QB Nolan will lead the offense to RB Stelly, WR Davis, WR Marsh. They will definately be able to make the playoffs if they can get some help from their line.

you have no reason to say anything about playin people a-1. you guys played hitchcock and lost. hitchcock isnt that good either.. yall barely beat hardin last year.. so yall better look out this year

They didn't beat Hardin last year.  Hardin beat them.  And honestly, Hardin was terrible.  But, its a new year, and according to some of their players (Anahuac's) on here, it will get ugly for everyone in 24-AA this year.
