KFDM COOP Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Hunter Education Class coming soonVan WadeThe Orange LeaderA Texas Parks & Wildlife Hunter Education Safety Class will be taught Friday, July 27 from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 28 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the DERA.Applicants must attend both sessions and pass the exam to become certified. The course teaches Texas hunting laws, ethics, safe firearm handling for rifles, shotguns, pistols, muzzleloaders, archery, first aid, wilderness survival and care of game.Certification is good for life and is accepted in all other states, Mexico and Canada. Certification is required if you are at least 17 years old and were born on or after Sept. 2, 1971 to hunt in Texas. You can become certified if you are at least 12 years old.The cost is $15 per person. Call instructor Danny Odom to register at 883-8118.
