InTheGates Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Who are some of the top basketball coaches in the area besides Boutte?
BMTSoulja1 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 The Coach from Kountze. He has the fullcourt trapping down to an art.
besbolbenbedygud Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 I would say English at Nederland........Vidor fans can confirm (first ever playoff trip).........It won't be long and we will be seeing the emergence of a few good Nederland teams!!
CATMAN Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Foster and English play at L.C. in Baytown both are very good coaches. And H.J. coach is 1 of the best.
AggiesAreWe Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 I would take Sutherland from HJ over Boutte anyday.
Guest DickVitale Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Of course you would....Does not mean that you are RIGHT, but of course you would pick Southerland over Boutte....I mean, Boutte has a 84% winning percentage, 3 state titles (at 2 different schools) and 9 state tourney appearances in 18 years....that means nothing, right?...Todd is a GREAT coach, too..He has taken 3 schools to the dance, won 2 titles with 2 different teams...Great person as well...It's like comparing Coach K at Duke and Louisville's Rick Pitino....that would be a tough one as well...It would be difficult to choose one over the other..That's my point.
BMTSoulja1 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Dang, I forgot about Williams at silsbee. He is a second next to the Kountze coach. He can be real intense during the course of a game, giving his players, his coaches and the refs an earful.
BMTSoulja1 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 I would take Sutherland from HJ over Boutte anyday. Are we being homers, Aggie? ??? ;D
CATMAN Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Let go on class 1a 2a 3a 4a 5a You have more kids 2 choose from 1a 2 5a and so on
AggiesAreWe Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Are we being homers, Aggie? ??? ;DNope, I am a Silsbee man. I just think Sutherland has done more with less than what Boutte has done with more.Like DickV said, probably couldn't go wrong with either of them. Probably.
CATMAN Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 the best in S.E.T. ARE -------1A--FOSTER---2A--BOUTTE----3A----SUTHERLAND
Guest DickVitale Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Boutte is in 4A...Did you mean Joubert in 2A? Southerland has had less talent because he has only coached in 2A and 3A versus LESS TALENT....Not to minimize what he has done, but you cannot minimize what Boutte has done at the 4A level either....ESPECIALLY in 06-07....Another great job was when he took PA Lincoln to the state finals with a bunch of midgets in 93 (6'3" post man was the tallest guy) and lost to Dallas Lincoln on a missed FT, and they had 2- 6'9" MONSTERS at Dallas Lincoln!!
Guest Jags Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 Travis Williams, there are several very good coaches
whsalum Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 When you look at these list it's no surprise why there are always local teams at the drum. Two small school coaches who are often overlooked are Hank Hargraves from EC and Cris Carter from Warren.Hank did a great job the past 3 years but was unfortunate to have Kountze in his region(and district)while Carter has 2 stae appearances and 1 championship on his resume. He also notched his 500th carrer win last year and is still fairly young as a coach. Both these guys do very well with the hand they are given.
ozens fastest@1906 Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I think this thread is ludacris, how are you going tp star a thread which bands the nomination of a Coach b/c he is the out right best....
besbolbenbedygud Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I think it was in respect to coach Boutte.....not to defuse him.......at least that was my take??
