That is the biggest step Jasper could have taken to get their program turned around. 2006 was a tough year for the Bulldogs and their fans as they finished 2-8 and 6th in 21-3A, unacceptable by normal Jasper standards. So in the offseason the Bulldogs brought back former coach Thomas Brooks from 5A Tyler John Tyler. Coach Brooks already has more kids back into the program and working hard to get Jasper back to the top of the football world.Key Wins Last Year:Hamshire-Fannett (12-7)Hardin-Jefferson (26-25)Last Year’s Scores:Livingston 27 Jasper 14Barbers Hill 26 Jasper 7Newton 21 Jasper 7Kirbyville 28 Jasper 21Orangefield 33 Jasper 7Bridge City 22 Jasper 14Jasper 12 Hamshire-Fannett 7WO-S 40 Jasper 0Jasper 26 Hardin-Jefferson 25Silsbee 35 Jasper 0Offensive Summary7 starters are back for a Jasper offense that averaged just 11 points per game in 2006. The offense will be led by the likes of RB Brandon McQueen and RB AJ Bronson. The offensive line will be good, led by Michael Crowell and Christian Goff. Look for WR William Brooks to make an impact on offense in 2007. With Coach Brooks back we expect Jasper to once again be able to put points on the scoreboard.Other Offensive Impact Players:Malcom Bronson (WR)Defensive SummaryThe Bulldogs also welcome back 7 starters on defense from a unit that allowed 26 points per game in 2006. Cliff Mitchell will look to make an impact from his DE position. Donte Rollins will also be counted on from the DE spot. Rollins may also see some time at RB as well this season. Other Defensive Impact Players:Trae Horn (DL)Jasper begins a much anticipated 2007 season at home on August 31 against class 4A Livingston. They then have two very tough road games at Barbers Hill on September 7 and at rival Newton on September 14. The Bulldogs open 21-3A play on September 28 at home against the Kirbyville Wildcats. They will host WO-S on October 26 and Silsbee on November 9.
