Simply put, the Bulldogs are loaded for 2007 and should make a deep run in the TAPPS playoffs. Last year Kelly finished 6-5 and lost to Dallas Bishop Lynch in the first round of the playoffs 42-14. Key Wins Last Year:Houston Furr (23-6)St. Thomas (24-15) Last Year’s Scores:Houston Kincaid 21 Kelly 20Kelly 28 Hitchcock 0Kelly 23 Houston Furr 6Bridge City 16 Kelly 7Kelly 30 San Augustine 18Crawford 34 Kelly 14St. Pius 35 Kelly 13Kelly 27 St. Michael’s 13Kelly 24 St. Thomas 15St. Pius 33 Kelly 9Dallas Bishop Lynch 42 Kelly 14 Offensive Summary No doubt the offense will be the strong point of the 2007 Kelly Bulldogs. Kelly returns 10 offensive starters off of last year’s team. Last year Kelly averaged 19 points per game and should improve on that number in ’07. The Bulldog offense will be led by all-star QB Anthony Fazio. Fazio put up great numbers as a junior last year as he passed for 1,125 yards and 10 touchdowns. We expect him to have another huge year this season. Also back on offense is RB Donnie Carona. Carona rushed for 425 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2006. Also look for WR Torreyjon Henry to have a big season after he had 420 receiving and 8 touchdowns last year. Other Offensive Impact Players:Doug Prewitt (WR)Taylor Carmona (OL) Defensive Summary Kelly welcomes 5 starters back from a defense that allowed 21 points per game in 2006. The leader of the defense will be DT Kheeston Randall. Randall finished the 2006 season with 33 tackles. We look for DE Dorian Guillory to have a big year on defense as well. Kelly should have a solid defense this season that will be very tough to score on. Kelly opens the 2007 season at home on August 31 against Houston Kincaid. They follow that up with a September 7 home game with Hitchcock. Then the Bulldogs hit the road for 3 straight games at Houston Furr, at Bridge City and at San Augustine. Kelly has dropped Crawford from the 2007 schedule and added 5A Louisiana power Sulphur. That game will take place on October 12 at Bulldog Stadium. bears99 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 Kelly will be pretty good this year, but Im a bit confused why they scheduled Sulphur this year. Sulphur played in the 5A LA State Championship last year. I dont really think Kelly is near that level right now.

rtdirish Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Rumors about Fazio possibly not playing football. Just rumors though but have some weight not sure that he has made up his mind yet. Would be a big effect on Kelly's offense.
jcb6790 Posted August 28, 2007 Report Posted August 28, 2007 I could be wrong, but the scheduling of Sulfur is most likely so the Kelly team can see some really good teams (which is also why some other games are scheduled) before play-offs and hopefully the State Championship
