This team had too much depth, speed, speed and so more speed at every position(seriously) last year. Kirbyville took a 55-14 butt whooping at the first start of the preseason last year. It should have been a cake walk for these guys to make it to state. Here comes the sad part, these guys didn't even make the state playoffs last year!!! Its pretty interesting to see how Kirbyville preform against this team at the house this year. According to the facts on paper, Carthage should be solid once again.

Kirbyville is barely a 3A school and Carthage is much bigger numbers wise. Coach Alaverez won't schedule them again.

Well....at least Kirbyville experience all that speed early. Our defense should be much better than last year. It should be a solid game this year!!

Naw, leave them on there. This will have them ready for district. Kirbyville needs to show up thats all. Carthage in my opinion was the best team Kirbyville played last year. They are so tough.

No disrespect to Rusk, but you wanna play teams in the preseason that you pretty much know youre not gonna beat. Thats how you get better.....look at Curtis Barbay

Is Carthage's stadium still condemmed?  I remember broadcasting their last year when the stands fell .

I don't know about the stands....Carthage come to Kirbyville this year and should lure in a big crowd!!!

Carthage had a good team last year but only beat Newton by 3 points at Carthage. Newton fumbled 4 times deep in Carthage territory. The game went down to the wire. Newton scrimmaged Kirbyville last year and Kirbyville won that scrimmage.

I think Kirbyville will beat Carthage this year. Should be a good close game.

Carthage come to Newton this year Sept. 28. Should be a good one also.

Kirbyville already know what to expect from these boys. Carthage is for real. Kirbyville will be tested, but should come out with the victory.
