Just wondering if anybody outside of me on here thinks PNG has a shot at pulling the upset over Barbers Hill on Friday?

If we play defense like we did against Dayton the last time and knock down shots all 4 qtrs like we did in the first two qtrs last night against PAM, I think we could pull an upset, definitely going to be a hard uphill battle.

We have to force Freshman PG to shoot outside and not penetrate the paint. She takes advantage of you when she gets that deep.

Priddy went 3-4 from deep against PAM in the 1st qtr and got an And 1 for 12 points

Stampley went 4-5 in the first half from Deep and I believe finished with 15 points

If the post can stay calm collect Off rebounds and score off of those I’m confident we can do it.

Intensity and Hustle has to be out of this world too.

I think you have to slow the game down.  Sprint back on defense and keep players in front of you, everyone else should have a foot in the lane....NO LAYUPS!!  Offensively you have to hit shots and dont be afraid to attack especially off of screens. Gotta make BH uncomfortable, they want more pace so you gotta take some of the air out of the ball lol.

Sorry, but "nope."

I think you need Carter to have an off night.....I just dont see how you can keep her from driving into the paint. She is just so quick. I wish this game was at BH so I could see it!

Stranger things have happened...lol. But, if she does have an off night, let's not totally forget the other 4 BH players on the floor.

Pretty doubtful.  But they play the games for a reason, and PNG has a better shot than anyone else in the district.

Immediately, when I read your comment, "But they play the games for a reason..." my thought went to the boy's side, not the girl's. More often than not, the dominate girls team is going to prevail. In my opinion, those underdog victories usually result from a coach knowing what he or she is doing. Also, my opinion, it's easier to coach up an underdog boys team, than it is a girls'. For example, boys' side, I'm likely to have an equally athletic player on my team that I can match-up with the opponent's best player. Girls' side, who am I going to select to keep up with Carter one-on-one?

I believe someone commented earlier about slowing the game down. That will help BH because the few games I've seen, they run out of gas in the 4th quarter. If BH is going to get past game 2 in the playoffs....will require better conditioning.

Yes, I agree PNG has a better shot than anyone else in the district, but the district is probably the weakest I've seen it in a long time.

Mollee Priddy matched up with her in the fourth qtr and kept her out of the paint last game. I would like to see us run a man to man defense and have Priddy match up with Carter the entire game. Our man defense keeps the entire defense engaged and moving the whole time which leads to more fast break points for us. That was the biggest difference in the second go around with Dayton and PAM. First game against Dayton, Soph scored 32 points against us, second time around Priddy matched up with her and she didn’t score until 2 minutes left in the third qtr. First time against PAM it was a 5 point game and we ran a zone. This past Tuesday we ran man and ran them off the court.  We also shot really well in the first 2 qtrs against PAM.

BH poses a match up problem with their length.

PNG Seniors will be playing their last game at home, so hopefully will be playing some high intensity basketball!

The game definitely favors BH.

BH record is 29-4.    Looks like they had enough gas in tank for 29 Wins

If Mollee has to guard her the whole game, it may hurt her on the offensive end.  If the crowd is loud like it was when the boys visited, there is a chance for the upset, but it will be very tough.

Mr. Oldman, no disrespect, but BH's 29-4 record is immaterial to me when it comes to readiness for the play-offs. Also, a quick review of my previous message will reveal that I qualified my comment with "the few games I've seen." Firstly, I find no pleasure in watching BH defeat a team by 20-30 points. Secondly, I try to attend games that are fairly competitive to gauge the strength of our team for the play-offs.

Respectfully, the "enough gas in tank for 29 Wins," is not the same "enough gas in tank" to be successful in the play-offs. Surely, I'm not going to use the same amount of energy against a team I can beat by 30 points, compared to a team where the win is by single digits. I may not be accurate, but did we not get knocked out of the playoffs recently by a 4th place team in another district?

Finally, please be patient with me. Although retired, some of that old mentality remains within me. Back in the day when I coached, I didn't coach for regular season or pool play or records, I coached to be in the championship game and to win it - and to get my girls at the next level.

Hmmm. 4th Quarter?

If your team is playing good man defense, the team is well coached. Kudos!

BH's length? We are much smaller than previous teams.

I regret I was not able to see Mollee Priddy's game at BH. Hopefully, I will get to see her play in the play-offs.

Good luck tonight! I hope you push BH to their maximum. It will be to both teams benefit.

4th qtr, because only thing I have to gauge, not a true full game reflection by no means.

Length, because they have more than PNG, lol. Compared to some other top teams they are short.

Mollee had a great 1st half shooting at BH, but did fade in 2nd half.

I just hope it is a close competitive game and that we get to the fourth qtr with a chance.
