Guest Kelly Football Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Since two a days is almost here and the off-season is almost mercifully over. I though of a pretty good off-season question. My question concerns your programs turning point. What game, hire or play turned the pendalum upward or downward for you program which could be for a season or for a decade or two.
WOS92 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Hmmm... Perhaps the hiring of Dan Hooks Pinpointing a specific season, it would have to be 1983 or 1985. The first was our only losing season. The second was the year we lost to a tough Yates team in the regionals. It was our best season to that point, but, more importantly, there was definitely the feel that something special was starting. In the 21 years that have followed, we've only lost 15 district games - and we had an undefeated district record in two-thirds of those years (14 seasons). Four finals appearances and two titles over that span and the best winning percentage of any school in any classification.
cardinal81o7 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 well two things recently...for the good: dropping down to 3a w/ several good classes to followthe decline....graduation 2006
warfan Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Pendalum, heck we're still looking for the clock.
Guest LCM Volleyball Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Coach Moody is turning the LCM program around. Takes time but since he's arrived it's headed in the right direction.
texans Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Dayton was 9-41 over a 5 year period. Coach Stewart took over the program and they have been in the playoffs 11 years in a row. Won district lots of times.
Guest Nederland Bulldogs Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 When Neumann took over Nederland that was our turnaround.
BUNA95 Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 The drop from 3A to 2A. It gives the kids a chance every week.
