no-look Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Of course this year is not over yet but looking ahead to next year. What area teams could be positioned for success? Excluding Yates. Lol. Some moved down A classification and should benefit from that. What about Coldspring and EC? Quote
TrojanWarrior08 Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 I think EC loses their PG but I think they will still be in the mix they always do... As for Coldspring we lose a few but not enough to make another run... District should be interesting now that Huntington is in it now Quote
catfever Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 EC point guard is coming back. He is just a junior. Buna has a lot returning, but not sure it is enough to make a deep run. Quote

BMTSoulja1 Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Add United to this conversation. We return probably the beat returning player in the area, 6'5" Arceneaux as a Junior and the two freshmen in our team that year gets lot of playing time. Ome has been starting. They'll be sophomores next year (6'5" Porchia and 6'4" Yates). DXTR, no-look and Hooohead.com 3 Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 PA Memorial needs to be talked about as they'll have Young Abrams returning, who'll be without a doubt the best PG in SETX next year .. Quote
Tigers94 Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 Silsbee should be very, very good in the future. There will be some growing pains next year, no doubt, but they could legitimately have a shot at state the next 3 years after that. Quote

Guest ECBucFan Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 You cannot predict "next year" for any of the area or state teams. Who knows who will move in where? The Transfer Portal is open for buisness. Quote

Coldspring should be an early favorite in their district. But who knows this early. Quote

Beyond that is anyone's guess but who knows plus I'm curious to see the Coldspring and New Waverly game since they played us close at home last time Edited February 14, 2020 by TrojanWarrior08 Mistake on date Coldspring plays New Waverly Quote

Quantity has a quality all its own. Quantity as in inches. Quote

Hard to say exactly what it will be since a lot of these kids are still only 13 - 14 years old. A few are already 6 feet tall though. Hoping Jones and Williams can come around next year for us and make more of an impact. One kid on JV looks to be about 6`2" and is pretty good at times. If he could get better and move up next year that would help also. Quote
Tyerman Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 Coldsprings new basketball district doesn’t include huntington. The district is: Coldspring, Trinity, Anderson-Shiro, new Waverly, Hardin, Tarkington, and Onalaska. Quote

I say different...I believe it may be Henry as he has more to assist to coming back...PG is hard to justify cause hes more of a scorer than facilitator speaking of abrahm but if you say floor general than you may be correct. Those are two different players PG vs Floor General. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote

Boneyard Boys Posted February 15, 2020 Report Posted February 15, 2020 I think one of the schools to be helped the most by realignment will be Vidor. I mean honestly have you seen what the 5A district will look like that we are leaving. They added BMT United and Crosby to a district with PAM and Ned. We can’t compete there but in this new Orange County +2 district we could surprise some people. BMTSoulja1, exsoftballplayer, no-look and 1 other 4 Quote
Tigers94 Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Gonna be scary if he gets bigger (he will) and starts lighting teams up as early as next year. Quote
