Coach Jeff Stewart has 15 total starters back for 2007 and will be looking to make a run at the district title this year.

Offensive Summary

The Panthers return 7 starters from an offense that averaged 22 points per game last season. Liberty will look to QB John Erik Zalesak to be the offensive leader along with HB Michael Flores. Josh White moves to the FB position after starting at LB for the past 3 seasons. The Panther offensive line will be led by C Ethan Ballinger and OG Jake Sell.

Defensive Summary

Liberty also has a strong nucleus returning on defense. 8 starters are back on that side of the ball for 2007. Last season the Panther defense allowed 27 points per game and should improve on that number this year. The defensive leader will be LB Dante Winters who finished 2006 with 99 tackles. The Panther secondary should be very good led by FS Steven Gee and SS Justin Dalco. Also look for Liberty to have a very strong defensive line with the likes of NG Arlando Senegal, DT James Riddick and DE Cullen Casey.

Other Defensive Impact Players:

Jeffrey Gibbs (CB)

Liberty will open the 2007 season on the road at Bridge City in week 0. Week 1 will see Liberty at home to take on the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns. • 2 weeks later...

gibbs played second team defense along with goodman and dalco...but all three had alot of time of offense saturday..

gibbs probably averaged around 15 ypc last saturday against sante fe...

we looked pretty good throwing the ball even though we didnt throw much...seems like the protection up front isnt up to par yet....

i dont think we will throw much vs. bc...but i do think we will work more on our passing againt orangefield this friday...
