Well, the glaring difference is the state is the economy in 2009 vs 2017. Remember how trump promised that growth would offset tax cuts? He was wrong. Good economies are supposed to raise tax collections and lower deficits. As the economy improved under Obama’s leadership the annual deficit did, in fact, decrease. 
Instead of pointing a finger at someone else, try explaining trump’s lies and distortions.

Should we simply dismiss the UNDENIABLE FACT that the unemployment rate is lowest in over 50 years?  Should we dismiss the UNDENIABLE FACT that there are many millions of folks off food stamps?  Should we simply dismiss the UNDENIABLE FACT that black unemployment is the lowest in history?  Should we dismiss the UNDENIABLE FACT that wage growth of the bottom 25% of workers is increasing at a rate twice that of the top 25%?  If the improving Obama economy was so great, why did the debt load continue to increase ( one of the reasons he is the only President to reside over a downgrade of U.S. Treasury Obligation rates)Do you recall Mr. Obama referring to Mr. Trumps assertion he would bring back some lost jobs?  Mr. Obama said " those jobs arent coming back;  what's he gonna do, wave a magic wand?'   In hindsight, it was a very foolish statement.
