Deja Kelly may have been the only McDonald’s All-American on the court this year, but there’s a chance two players from Cypress Creek earn the honor next year.  The problem for Cypress Creek: only one of them was playing. Rori Harmon, the No. 20 recruit in the class of 2021, missed Friday’s three-point semifinal win over McKinney for a violation of team rules, according to head coach Jennifer Alexander. Harmon didn’t suit up for Saturday’s state championship, as well, limiting an offense that was led by fellow junior Kyndall Hunter, the 32nd-ranked player in the class of 2021. Hunter finished with a team-high 24 points.

I applaud Cypress Creek HC Jennifer Alexander for being able to suspend a player at this stage in the playoffs and possibly cost her team a state championship.

Harmon's mistake was a costly one.  But I too applaud the Coach for standing firm and showing that no one is bigger than the team.  Nice season Cy Creek, it was a wonderful game.
