besbolbenbedygud Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 another fine day!!!The weather has been scalding hot here in Southeast Texas.....and so have a few of our local talents across the country...........Lew Ford............. had only one hit in four AB's yesterday but it's his 5th straight game with at least a single. He's got 14 hits in his 6 games, since being back with AAA Red Wings. Talk in the clubhouse, for the Twins, has been shaky while the club has been struggling the past few weeks. Maybe a rejuvenated Ford could bring a spark back to Minnesota??.......We're rootin' for ya Lew!!!Jason Tyner................. Still swinging the bat for those Struggling Twins, Jason had a hot bat yesterday hoping to help turn things around. Jason got a lead off walk in the 7th, vs Seattle, which resulted in knotting the game at 3 by the end of the inning. Again in the 9th Jason poked a lead off single giving the visiting Twins a chance to take the lead before going into the bottom of the frame.....but it was not to be. The game ended with, struggling himself....Richie Sexton, who was batting under .200, just over a week ago, belting a lead off Homer in the bottom of the ninth to end the game. Sexton has been splitting time with our own Ben Broussard until about 6 games ago. Sexton in his last six games has gone 10 for 25......but let's not count Ben out just yet, with his season average of .291!!! Individually, Jason would have wanted the win, but he still posted a 2 for 3 day scoring his one run in the seventh.Jay Bruce................. with another 'pro'ductive day in AAA Louisville, went 2 for 5, scored a run, had a double and an rbi. Jay's August average is at .320 and his season average with the AAA bats sits at .300...........ALMIGHTY!!!!Derrick Gordon.................. came in relief for his 7th save on the season finishing off 3 innings with only one hit a walk and 2 k's. Gordon's era is now 1.84 in 44 innings with 49 KO's...Nice!!!......Chip Ambres................... kept his hot streak alive going 2 for 5 at the plate with one double, a Home Run, soring one run, and had two rbi's. Chip is 9 for his last 18 AB's bringing his August average to .326.........HOT HOT HOT..........Chad Beck................ back to work on Monday pitched one inning, gave up one hit, one walk and struck out two batters for class A South Bend..........Nice pitching Chad!!!Brandon Richey................... had a 2 for 4 day for the Rookie Kingston Mets, scoring two runs, with one double and his 5th stolen base of the season..............Great day Brandon!!!
