BADSANTA Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 Earl Thomas? Bubba Smith? Jamaal Charles? Jerry Levias?? Quote
Fevertree Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 I would rate Kevin Smith even or slightly ahead of Earl Thomas. Both were very good in high school, college and the pros. TheOutsider 1 Quote

Fevertree Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 Kevin Smith has three Super Bowl rings to Earl's one. Isn't that the gold standard in the NFL. Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 Let's clarify what we're asking for. Greatest football player WHILE THEY WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL or kids from SETX that had the most success at the Collegent /NFL level? Reagan and BADSANTA 2 Quote

CardinalBacker Posted April 1, 2020 Report Posted April 1, 2020 The question was worded about greatest football player EVER from the Golden Triangle. I took that to mean guys who’d gone on to greater success. Is anybody local in the NFL HOF? I know Jimmy Johnson will go in this summer, but not for being a football player. The only local NFL MVP that I can recall is Mark Moseley (Livingston), and that’s not even Golden Triangle. Quote

In my opinion, SB is a team achievement, HOF is 1 person. If kevin Smith was drafted by the bills, he would have zero. And if earl was drafted by the browns... who knows? I will say this, kevin wasn't even the best athlete on his HS team. Just the one that the drive to make his dream a reality. Again just my opinion. Quote
