Reagan Posted April 3, 2020 Report Posted April 3, 2020 Let me ask everyone here a question: Do you know anyone with the virus? Do you know anyone that knows anyone with the virus? Well, I can say no to both statements. Half way through this video, you'll see a "virus tent city" with no one there. Also, it's been stated that early on, the news media was naming names of hospitals that are being "over whelmed" with virus victims. Citizens have gone to record this and found these hospitals are basically dead. So, later, the news media is still reporting drastic amounts of virus victims "over whelming" hospitals but are now "not" naming the hospitals. Very interesting! Quote

Again, there's been reports from the media about over flowing hospitals that turned not to be true. So much to point that the media that's maybe trying to fool us, now refuses to name the hospitals. The thing to remember is that the news media's first priority is generating revenue by selling ads. More eyes, more ratings, pricier ads. That's what they're concerned about. However, that doesn't mean that they're totally wrong. "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean that nobody is out to get me" is a good way of looking at it. However, this thing has been totally over-hyped for the most of us. The media is literally creaming their panties over the fact that they have a constant stream of bad news to send our way. This is in red print on Drudge today. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Big news... experts and Trump's advisors doubt white house figures is the headline. So I read it. It basically says that "we don't like the predictions put out, but we don't know if they're high or low... We just know that we disagree" with a heavy dose of "Trump bad." I also read a similar article a few days ago that predicted 100,000-240,000 American deaths due to Coronavirus... Within hours I was seeing headlines that read "Experts predict 240,000 American deaths." I'll be the first to admit that there's some bad things going down in NYC and NOLA right now. I think it'll continue to get worse, then get better. When you go back over time, you can see Black Plague, Bubonic Plague, Swine Flu, SARS, Spanish Flu, etc.... the one thing that they all have in common is that the human race persisted. Sometimes we just need a little reminder that we're still a part of the animal kingdom and disease (regardless of how far modern medicine advances) is still a fact of life... and always will be. My opinion is that a year from now we'll all be fighting off some nasty bugs that were forced to adapt based on our new obsession with antibacterials. I expect that we can all expect a ferocious round of stomach bugs and common colds next winter. Quote

Hagar Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 Here’s my 2 cents worth, and remember, I’m close to being a Dr, only needing 6 more years of College. If we persist with separation, we slow down the spread, giving Hospitals the ability to save more lives. Result, fewer deaths, many saying, “I told you it wasn’t bad”. If we don’t slow down the spread, Hospitals are deluged with patients, resulting in Dr’s having to decide who gets treated and who dies. Result, whole lot of deaths and many saying, “Told you we should have done more”. Bottom line, Trump & his advisors can’t win. The Virus itself? Scary numbers out of Italy & Spain. Honestly, after mentally going back & forth, I’ve finally decided it’s a real problem, but that’s just my uneducated guess. One more thing. We have little defense against these viruses, and it shows how helpless we are. Many bacteria have become resistant to our antibiotics. Soon, we’ll be as vulnerable to bacteria as we are to viruses. Money needs to switch over concerns from the arguably Global Warming problem to the very real danger of useless antibiotics. Humanity needs something to replace them. Currently, we have about 35,000 die a year in the US from these Superbugs. 5GallonBucket 1 Quote
Reagan Posted April 4, 2020 Author Report Posted April 4, 2020 is it any surprise that the highest rate of supposedly infected areas are also sanctuary cities? Quote

A couple others who probably have/had it but weren’t tested. I also have several family and friends who would be high risk if they get sick, including all four of my parents. bullets13 Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 I think the one number I’ve seen that puts it all into perspective was when I was looking at the numbers in Dallas county (where my dad, stepmom, and sister live). From September to March they had 17 flu deaths throughout the county. This was with people not taking precautions, not social distancing, the usual poor hygiene, refusal of many to get a flu shot, etc. With all of the precautions taken for coronavirus, and many people not leaving the house to avoid getting it, there have been 17 Covid deaths in 15 days in Dallas county. We’re seeing in New York what can happen if the virus spreads unchecked for a time before precautions are put in place. Nearly 700 deaths there yesterday, over 10,000 new cases diagnosed, most in and around NYC. If we did nothing, and experienced similar outbreaks in all major cities, we’d be looking at a death toll nationwide in the tens of thousands until the virus ran its course, many of which would be a result of overwhelming the healthcare system. That’s a scary proposition. Quote

I have a couple of real life experiences recently that lead me to ask the question. Can you answer it? People are dying from respiratory problems that are brought on by the virus. Even if they are pre existing, they are dying because they caught the virus. You may die of pneumonia According to the doctor, but would still be alive without the virus. So what actually killed him? Quote
stevenash Posted April 4, 2020 Report Posted April 4, 2020 The vast majority of people contracting the virus are not dying from it. In many instances, the respiratory problem already existed and was aggravated/made worse by the virus. I have two good friends who have lupus, which is an immune deficiency disease. At some point in their lives, they will contract some illness that most others can survive but their lupus makes it almost impossible for them to fight off illnesses. If a person has pancreatic cancer and dies, they will run an autopsy and if corona virus was present, corona will be listed as cause of death. 5GallonBucket 1 Quote
