AggiesAreWe Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 The '05-'06 school year for Tiger sports will go down as one of the most successful years in their history. Silsbee claimed 10 district championships, a runner-up, and a third place in the 12 team sports it participated in. Not bad. Here is how they finished: Football: 4-1, runner up Vollyball: undefeated, champ Boys basketball: 10-0, champ Girls basketball: 10-0, champ Baseball: 10-0, champ Softball: 7-3, third Boys track: champ Girls track: champ Boys golf: champ Girls golf: champ Boys tennis: champ Girls tennis: champ Silsbee sent a team in every sport to the playoffs.
kerusso Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 What did they do in the playoffs? I know the boys and girls BB teams did real well.
SilsbeeD Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 kerruso why can you says grats or something like that....i may of mis-read your comment but thats what it sounded like
Bread Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 Silsbee sent a team in every sport to the playoffs. Except soccer
Bread Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 but no taking anything away from silsbee at all, it is amazing how good of a year of sports theyve had, congratulations to them.....
kerusso Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 kerruso why can you says grats or something like that....i may of mis-read your comment but thats what it sounded like OK. Great Job Tigers.
SilsbeeD Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 yeah your right piratesoccer we usually dont have good soccer teams...
Guest airitout123 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Silsbee considers soccer more of an intermural sport than a school sport. So soccer doesn't count. :>)
Jsmity Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I think it like that at pretty much every small school. But nonetheless, every sport was not represented in the post season, regardless if it matters to you individualy or not. How ever, Silsbee did have a phenomenal year in all of those other sports. The community is proud.
Guest airitout123 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 The smiley face meant that I was joking. Silsbee has never been real successful in soccer. I am not sure why that is. I know that we do not have soccer programs for smaller kids. They are not exposed to soccer until they get to high school. I did not post the original post. SHS did have a phenominal year that this senior class will walk away very proud of. However, you are correct, we did not go to the playoffs in every sport.
Jsmity Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I understood you were joking. Sorry if it came out a lil hostile. For the record, Silsbee did make the playoffs in 4A a couple of times in the mid-late 90's. Since then though its been down hill.
SilsbeeD Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 actually airitout, the freshmen kids have been playing soccer since they were small kids....i think thats when they started a leauge for them. The freshmen class that is but im not tottaly sure.
AggiesAreWe Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 I did not include soccer because not all of our district foes play soccer. The soccer districts locally have a mixture of 4A, 3A, and 2A. Only 5A has its own district. With that said, I stand corrected in that Silsbee did not qualify for the playoffs in every sport.
WOSgrad Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 I think that qualifies as a banner year. Great job, Tigers.
Champion Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Except soccer But is soccer a real sport? I dont think that counts! J/K
bigred75 Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Nah I dont count it as one, hahahha. Too much running..............
Jsmity Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Thaat was a low blow guys. For a while soccer was the only sport at our school worth a crap.
Bread Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 LOL yall are funny...........i was lookin at another post and it said that most of yalls players dont play anywhere else but at school, but ive played against almost all of silsbees players in fall league.....and if they have no where to play, Lumberton has a pretty good recreational league for players to join........not to far away.....

Champion Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Thaat was a low blow guys. For a while soccer was the only sport at our school worth a crap. What years? I cant think of a year that our soccer program was worth a crap. I take that back the girls have been ok!
