adminbaberuth Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Lubbock, Tx has a real shot at the title. Check out Garrett Williams from Lubbock.SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – Garrett Williams came close to a Little League World Series record on Saturday, but the Little League’s new pitch count rule didn’t let it happen.Williams recorded the first 17 outs by strikeout against Coon Rapids, Minnesota, but when he struck out Dominique Reff for the second out of the sixth inning, it came on his 88th pitch.“I really wanted to stay in the game, but I knew I couldn’t because of the new rule,†Williams said.Williams pitching performance along with two, two-run homers by Tyler Thorne led the Southwest Region champions to a 6-0 win over the Midwest Region champions. TradinUp BH Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 The Lubbock team is very strong, I watched them the other day on TV. Great pitching and hitting. Hopefully after pool play they can beat Chandler, Arizona again and play in the final game.
ALLABOUTSTATE4BC09 Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 YEAH WILLIMAS AHS GOT IT GOING FOR THEM.. IVE WATCHED EVERY US TEAM IN THE TOURNEY AND TOTALLY UNBIASED LUBBOCKS THE BEST BY FAR.. AS LONG AS THEY KEEP IT UP THE COULD WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP...
TradinUp BH Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 I think almost all of thier pitchers are left handed. Man, to have your top three pitchers be left handed. That's impressive. I haven't seen every US team, but I have seen most of them and I agree Lubbock is the best one. The Mexico team looks like the front runner on the international side, but I haven't seen all of the teams. I know Canada has a 1st baseman that the announcers said is 6'2" tall. He was standing next to Mexico player that was like 5'2". I wish I could've put that pic on here.
westend1 Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 I don't see how any kids get hits off that 75+ mph stuff at 46 ft. The Lubbock kid also has offspeed pitches. He could pitch for some of the smaller high schools around here. Lots of schools don't have pitchers throwing any harder than that.
ALLABOUTSTATE4BC09 Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 Ive seen all the teams and If i I had to guess it'd be Lubbock vs Japan in the Championship...
TradinUp BH Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Well I'M taking it back on Mexico being the team from the international and going Cauroco sp? They impressed me today
westend1 Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I'm taking the Chinese team to face Texas. Venezuela looks good but I can't pull for them.
ALLABOUTSTATE4BC09 Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 well if you were going for venezuela they just got knocked out from a 2 out home run from curacou..lol
TradinUp BH Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I'm telling you Texas and Cauraco in the final game. They both look strong even though Cauraco won in extra innings on a three run blast.
KFDM COOP Posted August 24, 2007 Author Report Posted August 24, 2007 Good luck Lubbockhttp://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5080178.html
ALLABOUTSTATE4BC09 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I'm taking the Chinese team to face Texas. Venezuela looks good but I can't pull for them.chinese tapei lost today too..lol

adminbaberuth Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Texas vs Georgia for United States Championship. Georgia has the lead in the 1st 1-0 , still batting.
adminbaberuth Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 That's pretty neat, Bobby Knight is at Williamsport plus Coach Leach of TT invited them out to football practice.
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2007 Author Report Posted August 26, 2007 GA advanceshttp://sports.espn.go.com/sports/llws07/index
TradinUp BH Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Boy, I was wrong on my prediction. Japan battles back in the last inning and Texas didn't play good at all. Oh well, go USA
adminbaberuth Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 These kids are so talented. Going to 8th tied 2-2 , Japan vs Georgia for all the marbles.
TradinUp BH Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 congrats to Georgia for winning it, and Texas for third place. I still think that Texas was the better overall team.
Roll_Left15 Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 So do I....the pitch count rule is great for the youngsters, but It sucks that most of the time it will decide the outcome of the game!
Guest coachhooker Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 wow i think there were 5 walk off homeruns, and if i am correct i think 4-5 years ago they moved the fence back from 200 to 225 just imagine if it was still 200
westend1 Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 I think they need to look at modifying the bats. I watched some pretty weak swings carry out of the park. If high school is limited to -3, it seems that some limit could be applied to little league/pony league etc.
