It's one thing to get on a kid for missing football for just some summer league or just another all star game, but if it's the Little League World Series that's a little bit different. As almost everyone else has said on here that's a chance of a lifetime. That is every boys dream that plays in Little League to one day go to the World Series to play for a championship team. If you gripe at a kid for chasing his dream what kind of example are you as a coach, what type of respect are you giving your kids? Also, the World Series is just like any other championship tournament, you play the game for fun, but you also play to win. Why start something you're not going to finish or play something to not win? Those boys are playing on a team to have fun and to win and that's pretty selfish to ask them to step away from that without finishing and to end any oppurtunity to reach their ultimate goal. That coach is setting a poor example for his players and is probably losing any respect they had for him. I agree that since they aren't there someone will have to take their spot and they will have to earn it back but don't punish them that's taking away from their accomplishments.
