lonestar Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 He should have been done about 4 months ago in my opinion!
Guest coachhooker Posted August 22, 2007 Report Posted August 22, 2007 willy T and the two pitchers are in the middle of the wild card hunt and we got a 2-11 pitcher with a busted arm and about 70lbs overweight. Next stop new GM

Ruckdad Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 JAson Hirsh is done for the year with a broken leg - Buchholz hasn't done much for the Rockies and Willy T is on the DL with a leg problem.Jsut playing devil's advocate here.I liked the trade when he did it, but it has definitely blown up in his face.

We gave up waaaaaay too much for Jennings. And you can't compare the trade based on the players being on the DL. Look at their performances before getting on the DL. That tells the story.
Ruckdad Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I wasn't trying to compare the trades by players on the DL, I was just pointing out that fact. There's no doubt that WIlly T has outperformed anything he had done with Houston, but I would still rather have Pence in the outfield, and Willy T doesn't cure our lack of a quality lead off guy since he cannot take a walk and his OBP is less than .375. He has only scored 59 times. Taveras is never going to be a great player.Bucholz is 6-4 with a 4.25 ERA mainly out of the pen. I really hoped we could keep Hirsh, but he hasn't shown a lot yet either, 5-7 with a 4.81 ERA, and done for the year with a broken leg. But - with all that being said - the trade still looks bad in hindsight.
