given the water levels are up

  the point was brought up on another board about the water levels this year being higher than the last several. This has quite a few lakes shut down which is exactly opposite from last year also. With all this water that can't be hunted and the water that has flooded private lands the birds are guarenteed to be scattered.  But with avid scouting the public hunter should be able to stay on top of the birds, just might burn quite a bit more fuel than normal.

With my calling skills it doesn't really matter where I hunt, the birds will be there.  ;D

  Actually i do......depending on the source.  Theres always something to learn, and that goes for anything.  I know one thing i need some pointers for my shooting this year. I just went to another skeet shoot yesterday and it was horrible. I shot worse than the shootout.  I need to get about 2 cases of shells and 5 casses of skeet and just shoot till there gone.  I'm not setting my gun properly on my shoulder and it's throwing my line of sight off.  I think i'm gonna go out to a field and just sit there leading birds until i get back to setting it right.

Which "pointer" do you prefer German shorthair or English Setter?  ;D

Ummmm....i would say the the german short hair.....less tangles to deal with.  They come in handy when i'm jump shooting ducks that are sitting on the water.
