Guest Baller Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Let's just say that Dayton rolled in this one. The 4 quarter game was 41 - 20. That is 6 TD's there and they scored 4 more in the 15 play controlled scrimmage, 2 of those coming from the second team. That is 10 TD's against a preseason playoff pick from a visiting district. I know it is a scrimmage but my God them boys looked good. Dayton receivers got tired especially Dugat who looks to be close to being 200lbs now, I know he had over 80 plays last night offensively and defensively. Still has the same moves and speed just a whole lot bigger. Cody Green is pretty dang good. I am sure they threw for close to 400 yards. He broke one down the left sideline for 70 yards and a TD that looked good. Gable the new runningback was a lot lot quicker than the RB from last year. Great vision and great moves. Defensively - I know most of the kids at Dayton and at one time there were 6 sophomores on the defensive side during the game. They can talk all they want to about West Orange being young, but they are no younger than Dayton on defense. The kids flew around to the ball and do not mind striking. Had a he** of a goalline stand after an offensive fumble. They may be young but they will get a lot better by the time that district rolls around. The fastest kid in the state did have one long run for a TD but the rest of the night was held in check. Was a great look to get ready for the RB from Central.Overall a great scrimmage. Dayton is loaded offensively and will get better defensively in a short time. Get ready 22-4A because Dayton looks very good against a good team.
NedDog Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Wow! Sounds like Dayton is scary-good this year.
skipper Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 yep sounds like thay are ready to get it on watch out 4A dayton is ready for you
JS Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Dayton looked very good last night--on both sides of the ball. As far as being young on defense there are sophs on the line and linebackers but the starting CBs and safeties are seniors
