Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Newton's James Burch was 3 for 3 Friday night including a 40 yarder.
WH-BackInThaDay Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 If that 74 yard punt was in the air, it was impressive. (I know the kid can kick and punt regardless.) But I saw a vid of a junior high game where a kid punted the ball with the wind about 30 yards in the air. The wind was so strong, it bounced about 3 good times and went close to 80 yds. Sure, it was a fluke, but I thought it was neat. Let me see if I can get the URL and I'll post it.
GoatHerder Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 I know its not the SETX area but when we watched Livingston and HJ scrimmage a few weeks back the kicker from Livingston was very impressive to say the least....50+ was made 3-5 times..not bad for a 4A HS ...!!
txstar Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Carona is as good as I have seen in high school, and he is a good kid...looking at LSU hard
McLovin Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Martin Fontenot has made some impressive post-kick tackles. :o
eagle_sports Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 how about taylor rhorer from woodville? a freshmen that just arrived to woodville... he has a pretty decent leg for his age and size... with three years left in school this kid has a lot of potential.
justafan1 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 I have some video of Kountze's freshman kicker and I am trying to figure out how to down load to my computer and then here. His average off the tee is between 40-50 yards. The video I have shows a kickoff that is cought on about the 10 or 11 yard line. I will see what I can do to let everyone see this.
Jsmity Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 A 60 yard FG kicker here in Beaumont? You would think I would have heard about this kid... ???Ive kicked a couple back in my high school day.. in practice.. but the plate in High School football that used to kick off of adds a significant advantage to the kicker...
cards_mom Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 My pick would be Donnie Carona from Kelly................that young man can really boot the ball. Should have a great future ahead of him. Even tho they were killing us at BC this past Friday, he was pretty amazing and fun to watch.
