PNG Proud Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 I haven't hit anything, but I did notice a huge sand bar near the ship channel, not far from Stewts Island, where that shrimp boat is grounded. I rode out there in my big boat and almost got stuck. That wasn't there before Rita and no telling how many more there are out there. I'd run slower for a while.

MikeEast Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 yes, it is open, but its totally trashed. There is virtually no asphalt left and if its been wet stay out of there. Its is really torn up from 4WD traffic unless its been repaired. I was fishing from my boat near the north revetment north drain about a week ago and I could see the trucks getting beat up getting in and out of there.
