dav-joel Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 How about Texas High Schools starting girl's flag football? Its gonna happen. What ya think?
Ty Cobb Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 Will it be part of the UIL? What sport will the boys get in return?
dav-joel Posted August 29, 2007 Author Report Posted August 29, 2007 The FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Assoc.) sanctions the sport, and even has a state championship and 4,000 girls in 146 schools participated.Don't know what if any sport the guys will get. (Do they really need another????)
BadMedicine Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 This would be a big boondoggle adding girls' football. Most school districts already have budget problems, difficulty in hiring coaches and practice/playing facilities. I hope there is no truth to this.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 They take it seriously up here in Alaska, have a state title game and all.
Cardinal Supporter Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 Boy, I can see potential problems with girls football. I guess they would have to schedule games around boys football because they would have to use the same field and I guess the same field house bucause of proximity of the field/statium etc... maybe like a Saturday afternoon game.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 29, 2007 Report Posted August 29, 2007 out here they play anytime during the week long as it doesnt mess up the schedule for the boys, sometime they play before the boys do.
dav-joel Posted August 29, 2007 Author Report Posted August 29, 2007 Midnight sun and Girls football. Can't beat that.Yea I agree, scheduling on Friday, Saturday, etc should be manageble.Gives the "non cheerleader types" a chance to participate under the Friday night lights. (or midnight sun)
