Kountze: Jarod Howard, freshman, running back, ran for a touchdown that brought the Lions to within 3 points against Tenaha. After a successful onside kick recovery by Kountze and a field goal to tie the game, Howard scored the winning touchdown from 25 yards out in OT.

Howard had not played in the game until he stepped in during the fourth quarter.

Sophmore Keeton Addison for Deweyville had 166 on 19 carries with a TD

I second this nomination.  The West Brook defense shut Ozen's offense out and only gave up 3 or 4 first downs the whole game.

Josh White, big bruising running back from Liberty had 223 yards rushing on 23 carries. Even had to play some cornerback at the end of the game after one of our DB's got hurt.

Sampere - Ned QB.  He threw for 233 yds.and 2TDs.  He ran for 40 yds. and 2 TDs.  He only played 2 3/4 qrts. before getting hurt.  Brenham had no answer for him in the 2nd and 3rd qtr.

i would give stats...but i just dont know them...He pretty much never left the field though, acting as QB, Safety, and deep snapper, and you just dont see that much in 5A football

Yeah Mr. Reality Nolan from Hardin had a ok night. He only carried the ball 7 times and got 84 yards, getting the first every time. He was 17 for 23 passing for 209 yards.

this nick mccown kid sounds like he held his own even though hes a sophmore.... another hawk that might deserve it is jake roby... he had 10 tackles which included 2 tfl and 3 hurries with a broken hand possibly in the second half
