Bobcatfan4life Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Newton opens their season this week by traveling to 3A Crockett. Crockett beat 4A Kilgore last week 27-14. Any thoughts on this one?
AltoJacketFan5 Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Word around here is Crockett is LOADED!!! Should be a good one!
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Crockett was loaded last year when they played and Newton took the victory, and Newton is a better team this year than they were last so I think we got this victory as long as every thing goes ok we don't have any injuries and we win the turnover battle we should be ok...
KFDM COOP Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Should be a good one. Crockett beat a good 4A team in Kilgore last week.
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 I hope so I don't want to drive all the way to Crockett for a blow out... That would be a long ride for nothing :D
jackleg Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 that is exactly how most fans feel about making that drive to Newton
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 that is exactly how most fans feel about making that drive to NewtonHA HA :D YOUR RIGHT...
Master T Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 My cousin play for Crockett. He told me that Crockett D is real raw. Can Newton hang on to them. Crockett by 6
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 My cousin play for Crockett. He told me that Crockett D is real raw. Can Newton hang on to them. Crockett by 6Talk is cheep they were supposed to be raw last year we ran the ball down there throat, so I don't want to here all that I want to see it on the field. I still think Newton is going to be to fast for them again this season...
duckbutter Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Newton has SEVERAL key injuries but will still give a quality Crockett team a good run.
24 over par Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 crockett a little to much for very good newton team
dav-joel Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 3A Crocket should win, but it won't reflect negatively on the 2A Eagles .
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Newton's injuries are not a factor anymore the guys that were hurt told me they were back and playing this week...
k-villeballa Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Crockett has talent every year no doubt. I remember Kirbyville met up with them in the playoffs in 2005 and Quincy Cotton and Jerome Jones killed them with the sweeps and dives. The score end up being 43-21 Kirbyville. Newton beat them last year i think 24-13. I don't see any difference. Crockett won't be able to handle Newton running the scat.
Guest Eagle73 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 I talked with Coach Barbay this morning and he said Newton's starting QB has not been able to practice all week, but the number 2 QB has looked good in practice. He's just young and might "lock up" under the lights as is the danger of all young players. He says Crockett is "better than us, but was last year." The thing is to keep them from lining up correctly on defense. To keep them guessing. He says we will probably be OK. I say Newton by 7.
duckbutter Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Crockett always has talent and plenty of hosses in the stable. I understand that Newton will be without at least 3 of their defensive starters also, DL DE and CB.
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Newton wil only have one player out this week and that is one of there defensive ends and that is all that is on the injury list.
Guest Eagle73 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 I don't know about an injury list, but I would tend to believe Coach Barbay and what he says. He's not known for misinformation. He said he doubted Nikko would play. That's the QB.
Guest EagleFan01 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Did he say what was wrong with him? From what I heard this morning Spikes was the only one out with the knee problem...
