Nothing dumb about it at all.

Will the game be televised this year?  At this point no.  Many have called upon the UIL to loosen he rules against showing video broadcast or video streams or Friday night games in light of playing games in front of no fans or a limited number of fans, but as of yet the UIL has not relented on this and I have seen no indication from state sources that the UIL is considering it at this point.  Now, if we get closer to the season this stance may be reconsidered as I have always been told that the rationale behind the Friday night prohibition is to convince more folks to go watch the games instead of staying home and watching it on TV or online.  So logic would dictate that if there are no fans in the stands allowed, that there is no reason for this prohibition to be in place this season. But we will see.

Now at to listening to Mid-County madness.  Both Nederland....broadcasted by KLVI......and PN-G......broadcasted by Cool 92.5 FM....have radio broadcasts.  And both do have internet websites:

KVLI:

Cool 92.5:

Plus, as both are iheart stations, they can be reached through the iheart radio app which can be downloaded from either Google Play or the Apps store.

As to satellite radio, I am not aware that either have a Sirius XM channel.

I guess that, in light of Dr. Breithaupt's announcement, I must amend this answer as he announced, for this season only, the game will likely be available by video streaming.

Not from our area but Odessa Permian and Midland Lee was considered the best rivalry in Texas at one point. Met 3 times in the playoffs the best of them was 84 with Permian winning 15-14.

How many times have PNG and Nederland met in the playoffs? And if it has happened what were the results?

As far as PNG vs Big Ned, there is one thing that cements atmosphere. When each sides students are committed enough to pour & spray powder into the air, thus infesting people's bodies for future restrictive lung disease & mesothelioma, now that is a group of committed fans!  Or at the very least, a group of fans that should be committed & locked away.  Along with the adults that allow this practice.

Just sayin' "atmosphere."

If it is against the rules (and I have heard that it is against the rules at both stadiums) why don't the school administrators police it better? It seems like an easy thing to control. All they have to do is kick one person out, and the problem would be 99% solved for the rest of the students, at least for several years.

Or one student body shoots a flare gun at another student body... “atmosphere”

Isn’t there refineries right across the street from PNG High School? Would that be considered an Oxymoron? Just wondering

If I'm not mistaken those Coldspring and Huffman games were always for the DC in those years right?

Yes they were!! Do you remember when we would go to Huffman & win? They would close one side of the gates & we would have to go the long way!!

I don't consider Ned vs Png a rivalry at all. Rivals should despise each other and these two just love the dickens out of each other. Its more like a circus than anything else.

They are work mates, best friends, cousins, brother and sister in-laws, husband and wives till game week and then they are like Democrats and Republicans,  Aggies and Longhorns, X's, Indians and Dogs.
