So were set up in our spot very early as usual to get the best shooting location.  And just like freakin duck hunting right at daylight two barneys walk in talk to us for a second (note: they were aware of our position) and then proceed to walk straight into the field , kinda didn't think much about it then cus is was still overcast and not quite light enough. I figured the were headed to the other levee.  well shot's start ringin and dove start to make a late but fashionable entrance and we suddenly realize these two idiots are 80yds from us and 30 ohter hunters lined up on the levee which makes a u shape around them.  (for u military guys it was a perfect double envelopement formation.)  So we keep hunting letting several birds fly due there proximity to the barney's.......and low and behold several hours later the man and his buddy are leaving proceed to accuse me of shooting him in the face. And if it would have been 2 inches higher it would have taken his eye out and he would have slapped a law suit on me.............NOTE: their are no redmarks on his face, no bleading of any sort, i am shooting 23/4 8's at 1400fps and he is at 80yds accusing me of a feild level shot directly in his face.......not once....not twice.....he claims five times.............and why does he wait until he leaves to say something...why didn't he move.......and i know i never took a field level shot.....I let birds pass........I was shaking i was so pissed.......

i forgot this part, my buddy finished the story on the other board.....

CC02 didn't quite share the best part.  He is sitting there taking the verbal lashing of the 60 something year old, being respectful, trying to talk but getting cut off, and finally apologized for something he knew he didn't do just to appease the feller and defuse the situation.  The guy refuses to quit and keeps berating him, and finally CC02 states the obvious "Well sir, I'm not the idiot that sat down in the middle of the field right inbetween two levies that were loaded with dove hunters every 50 yards on opening day."

Get this, the Yankee (real funny accent) goes to cussin and RAISES HIS GUN BUTT and takes several steps at CC02 as if he was gonna hit him with it.    I don't know if it was the fact that CC02 didn't flinch, the 110 pound and very defensive dog sat up at his feet, I'm up and moving that way on his 6, or that his huntin partner was skedaddlin down the trail as quick as could be to not get pulled in... but somethin cause reason to go to his head and he stopped in his tracts, gun butt still raised, looked back to see me approaching quickly from behind, another from the front, and a Marine in the chair fixing to take that gun out of his hands and hit him with it.

We were all getting peppered all morning by falling shot, just the nature of the game.  How in the world he picked CC02 out of all of us to say that he shot him 5 separate times, I'll never know, but it sounds to me like he was getting peppered like the rest of us... only he wasn't smart enough to wear glasses and look down when you hear the shot start to fall.  As close as he sat to us, and right in our line of fire, he would have been covered in welts at the very minimum if he took a direct hit.

Trust me it was not easy to hold my cool,  I know it wasn't me at all that kept me in that chair. It was mix of an angel holding me still and the fact he was so old.  I was shaking so hard i had to unload my gun and walk around for a while after that.

Ireally think the only reason my dog didn't pounce on the poor feller was because he picked up on the fact that i didn't budge. I'm willing to bet if i had flinched it would have been curtains......He has gone after those thugg kids just for trying come in the driveway behind me at night.
