I think with the HISD scheduling plan the Nederland/Austin game was a no-go before the UIL announced anything.

Tell me about it!  I have had to adjust my schedule topic 3 times in the last week alone and had to completely scrap the weekly schedules that I had ready to go!

As for scrimmages, just found out that Silsbee will only be playing one scrimmage. Aug. 20 vs. Brownsboro in Nacogdoches.

Right now, WO-S also has only 1 scrimmage and are still looking for a Week 1 game.

Because 4A and down is starting on time, I see no reason why they could not play two scrimmages.

I'm not sure NetCat isn't right.  I, like you, had assumed that as they were starting on time that there would be 2 scrimmages.  But look at the UIL calendar:

Yep. Only one scrimmage to be played by everyone according to this.

Silsbee was suppose to scrimmage Livingston the week before.

WO-S was supposed to scrimmage PN-G that same week and I know that WO-S coaches have been online seeking a scrimmage to replace it.  I have a feeling that a lot of coaches don't realize what we just realized.

I'm confused all the schools in Houston are not 5 and 6a the 4 a and the rest of the schools in the lower classification, if the rest of the districts outside of Houston can proceed in August where does that leave those in Houston. Or am  I wtong it's just 5 and 6a

Just one district in Houston ISD is 4A.

With the Harris county new order, they will only play district games, no non district games. They will be able to play playoffs (only thing you are worried about) with all the other 4A teams.

For the UIL to accommodate the HISD 4A teams, they would had to have delayed the start of practice......not games, but PRACTICE (Allen Iverson would be proud) until October 19th.  Currently, that is the EARLIEST that HISD are allowing any of its schools to start with extracurriculars.  Even with a shortened 3 week period before the next game, that would mean the first game would be on Nov. 13 which, by the way, is the first week of bi-district for 4A-1A teams.

I have contacted Coach Mac to see what the effect but these games could be lost:

Aug. 28 - at Liberty

Sept. 4 - at Needville

Sept. 11 - at Bridge City

Sept. 18 - at Navasota

Sept. 25 - La Marque
