JFK and 99% of the democrats before him would align themselves with republicans in today’s society. That’s my point. The difference with JFK is he recognized something was wrong with that way of thinking before he was killed.

You are very creative!😂😂😂

Wish I could take the credit but there’s nothing creative about it. Conservatives align themselves with other conservatives. Democrats and republicans align with anyone who wants to give them a vote. So when you mention the racist history of the democrats just make sure you say conservative Democrats and you’ll be 100% correct

Very few Democrats aligned themselves with JFK when he was president.  Like the Republicans, he was socially, fiscally, and morally conservative.  The majority of Democrats were from the south and hated Kennedy.  That’s why he wasn’t able to get the Civil Rights and Voting Rights bills passed. When LBJ took over , he used strong arm tactics and blackmail to get get the Southern Democrats to vote the way  he wanted them to.  There were several gay Senators and congressmen who he threatened to out if they didn’t vote his way.  One was Senator Russell from Georgia who was considered the most powerful man in the Senate.  He also realized that Blacks were getting more power politically with their civil  rights movement And if he gave them a little something they might change from Republican to Democrat.  That’s when welfare and Medicare was passed.  He gave them just enough to barely pay bills but not enough to get out of poverty.  The problem was you couldn’t work and collect this government help, you had to be unemployed.  He decided Blacks would rather have the free stuff and stay in poverty but would still vote for Democrats because they were getting something from them.  He famously said”I’ll have those N*****s voting Democrat for 200 years. LBJ was right.  Blacks realized they had to work to make a decent living but as group they still vote Democrat because they feel they are supposed to.  They don’t want to go against the grain even if sometimes it doesn’t make sense.

JFK was different from other Democrats when he was president.  That’s why he couldn’t get the civil rights bill or the voting rights act passed.  Over 60 percent of Democrats were against those bills while it was the republicans who were for them. LBJ was able to get the bills passed by using his strong arm tactics and blackmail to get the southern Democrats to vote for the bills.  There were several gay congressmen who he threatened to out if they didn’t vote like he wanted.   Senator Russell from Georgia was one of them.  JFK was very socially liberal ( like the republicans) but fiscally and morally conservative (also like the Republicans). Until LBJ ,Blacks largely voted Republican but LBJ decided by giving the blacks enough welfare to live on and Medicare he could change their voting habits and he did.  He famously said “ I will have those n*****s voting Democrat for 200 years”. I just don’t understand why they sold their votes for just enough money to pay the bills but not enough to get out of poverty. They were happy to just barely have enough to live on and felt that was worth their allegiance to the Democratic Party.

Both parties were mixed between liberal and conservative during JFK’s presidency. The “Dixiecrats” were formed in 1948 as a movement for conservatives to separate from the democrat party. The Dixiecrat party didn’t last long. Some went back to the Democratic Party and some switched to the Republican Party. So you had liberals and conservatives in both parties. JFK didn’t support integration when he was first elected. He first publicly planned on passing the Civil Rights Act around 6 months before he was killed. Neither party supported the bill at first. Both sides had to be coerced. In the end both sides got a majority vote. The republicans had a higher vote percentage wise but there were near twice as many democrats in the  house and senate. I would guess it would probably be easier to coerce 10 people into seeing things your way then it would be to coerce 20. Anyway the bill was passed by LBJ, a democrat who is quoted saying “It’s an important gain, but I think we just delivered the south to the Republican Party for a long time to come”. And that’s when even more conservatives switched than before and democrats began marketing to liberals. Rather they’ve been good for the black community since then is one thing but trying to pin the racist history of the 1800s and early 1900s on modern day democrats is a whole other thing. So when you mention the racist history of the democrats just make sure you say the “conservative democrats” to be 100% accurate. Other than that your being deceptive

Is that conservative moderate, conservative light, conservative heavy? You can get caught up in all the semantics you want but you can’t deny the Democrat Racist History.  This is a quote from the great Clarence Thomas who is a CONSERVATIVE on the Supreme Court when he was being nominated by George Bush. The Racist Democrat Party tried to destroy this man in 1991 but he rose above it an put them in their place. Matter fact Joe Biden (Democrat) was the chairman of the judiciary committee that ask him if he had anything to say about the allegations brought against him at his hearing an he said I quote .

“And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I'm concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. -- U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.”

Yep , that’s your Racist  Democrat Party in 1991 an they weren’t conservative Democrats. You should be proud of them. Conservatism is not a color.

The fact that the democrats you speak of and want to place all the blame on for racism were CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS  is not semantics. It’s a very important fact and can be misleading if you leave that out. Doesn’t matter what type of conservatives, just know they weren’t liberals or progressives. As far as what happened with CT that was just politicians  being politicians.

Racist CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT history. I care nothing about the democrat. I just don’t like deception so yes it feels better to know better. Maybe you, being a conservative, want to hide the fact that they were CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS so you can throw the blame on the democrats and not feel bad about your conservatism.

Name some of these conservative democrats and why you consider them conservative.

By the way, I don't feel bad about my conservatism, it's liberalism that is ruining this country.

Strom Thurmond was a Democrat who later switched to a Republican because of his conservatism

You sure liberalism ruining the country or that’s just what you’ve been programmed to think?

Liberalism/communism has ruined every place it's tried!  If liberalism/socialism/communism worked -- Cuba would be a total paradise!  I'll tell you this much -- it sure wasn't conservatism/capitalism that wrecked Cuba and Venezuela!

Liberalism, socialism, and communism are 3 different things. So do you consider conservatives capitalist?

Explain what you mean by conservatism.

As in he wasn’t in agreement with the expanding of civil rights being led by democrats at the time. He disliked it enough to join the republicans who soon became the conservative Republicans we know today.

I asked a question. Guess you can’t answer

And I asked you a question...to answer yours liberalism has been proved to ruin countries, latest example, Venezuela as Reagan has pointed out.

I would say to ignore evidence right in front of you is more a sign of being programmed.

That is an absolutely horrible definition of conservatism, I am glad I finally got it out of you.

By the way, the Republicans are not conservative, not by a long shot.

There may be a few, but not many.

Try as hard as you may to rewrite history, but it was your democrats that beat down MLK and his followers on the bridge, it was your democrats that blocked children from attending school and it was your democrats that turned out the dogs on peaceful protesters.

Conservative democrats...no such thing.

President Grover Cleveland was leader of the pro-business bourbon democrats. That’s conservative
